  1. Nah, I was just thinking of switching the Blue Jays out for the Orioles. We can keep the KC, CWS, Tigs games.
  2. Dear Mr. Manfred, May we play the Orioles more often? Sincerely, IT
  3. Yeah, like he said, on the lineups.
  4. Twins: Polanco, J, SS Astudillo, C Cruz, DH Rosario, E, LF Crom, 1B Cave, RF Schoop, 2B Adrianza, 3B Buxton, CF Gibby, P Orioles Villar, SS Mancini, RF Smith Jr., RF Nunez, R, 3B Rickard, CF Davis, C, 1B Sucre, C Alberto, 2B Bundy, P
  5. My ribs and brisket are smoking and I'm lonely.* Somebody start a Game Thread. *By "my" ribs and brisket, I'm meaning the ones I pulled out of the freezer. Not that I crawled into the smoker. I wouldn't fit. Game started 10 minutes ago and the Twins are up 2-0. Lineups to come.
  6. He did pitch two innings back in 2012 and now has three career whiffs, so he's striking out 9.0 per 9 innings.
  7. Twins tie team record with eight homers. Other occasion was Aug. 29, 1963, just down the road in Washington, and also in a doubleheader (first game): Vic Power 2 (8, 1 off Ron Moeller, 6th inn, 2 on, 2 outs to LF, 1 off Don Rudolph, 1st inn, 0 on, 1 out to LF);Bob Allison (29, off Don Rudolph, 1st inn, 1 on, 2 outs to RF);Harmon Killebrew 2 (31, 1 off Pete Burnside, 5th inn, 0 on, 2 outs to CF, 1 off Ron Moeller, 6th inn, 1 on, 2 outs to LF);Jimmie Hall (26, off Ron Moeller, 8th inn, 0 on, 1 out to RF);Bernie Allen (6, off Ed Roebuck, 9th inn, 0 on, 0 outs to RF);Rich Rollins (16, off Ed Roebuck, 9th inn, 0 on, 1 out to LF). But that time, they hit four in the other game, so the 11 homers in a doubleheader today isn't a record.
  8. I assume they'll wait to see how the next few days settle out to decide the plan for Wednesday's game, but Stewart (Thursday) and Littell (Friday) are the two guys from Rochester that could line up. Unfortunately, neither has exactly distinguished themselves so far.
  9. Probably would have gone against one of those unwritten rules if he'd missed home plate on the way by to get credited for a triple.
  10. I guess we went for two on one of the touchdowns.
  11. Two touchdowns is good, but did we snap it out of the end zone twice for the two safeties?
  12. He went 3.1 in one of his games and has gone from 29-40 pitches in his four games, last pitching on Monday. That seems like a logical range for tonight. But with Perez back out in the sixth, they've probably moved beyond the possibility of Perez coming back on Wednesday.
  13. Just down the road from Homerville, GA, 31634, by the way, which seems fitting tonight.
  14. I was hoping for two more runs so that I could Mapquest Hahira, Ga.
  15. I vote for quick hook, but go to Romero, since he's back down tomorrow.
  16. Don't take too big of a helping. You're going to want seconds.
  17. Romero confirmed as the 26th man. Rainout could cause a problem for Wednesday, since Berrios would have been scheduled to pitch. With Berrios and Perez on Saturday, followed by Gibson, Odorizzi, Pineda, they could have to bring up a minor leaguer on Wednesday. OR, with Romero available in the second game and Perez having worked on shorter rest earlier in the season while in the bullpen, it seems like it's an option to pull Perez after maybe 50-60-ish pitches on Saturday (unless he's pitching great, of course) and then bring him back on Wednesday. If Perez gives four innings and Romero three, it's like the starter getting seven, which would be a welcome change. Then, Berrios could go on Friday and Gibson, Odo, Pineda all get an extra day and everybody stays in the same order. Or better, get Berrios about 15 runs and pull him after three so that he can come back on Wednesday and skip Perez the next time around.
  18. When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandpa did. Not yelling and screaming like the folks in the back seat of the car he was driving.
  19. Philly 10 runs on five hits. That's not something you see very often.* *Unless you give up a HBP and two BB and make four errors.
  20. The radio guys* just said that the Twins have scored in the inning immediately following an opponent's run 48 percent of the time. That's the best mark in the majors. *And by "radio guys," I mean Provus. No way Gladden comes up with a tidbit like that.
  21. Must have gotten up early to read the newspaper -- First Edition.
  22. Gurriel stole home for the Blue Jays. He’s on pace to beat Carew’s record.
