  1. Would you want to sign with a club that routinely does this with their young talent? I wouldn't either. I question whether I can remain a fan of this team, it's been 41 years of this for me. Why dump him now, honestly? He has a year and a half left on his deal. If I'm the twins I'm doing everything I can to keep him happy. I don't care if it's $280 million, it's not my money. These teams that are 'regularly' competitive are spending on their pitching. The Jays fleeced us. Got a stud by dumping their failed picks on our front doorstep.
  2. 100 percent aware of that. My point is probably only 10 percent of the guys that make that list of prospects ever make it big. We have one that had made it.
  3. Prospects are ONLY prospects. All-star starters that are 27 yrs old shouldn't be traded for 2 prospects. I don't care what their prospect ranking is. We'll turn around next year and bring in more guys like Happ, Shoemaker, Kenny Rogers, and Rich Hill and have their monetary value shoved down our Twins fan throats. We can't be happy with this. Berrios is the closest thing we've had to a stud pitcher in 10 years. He left here with a winning record? Dude is a stud.
  4. I don't really like the idea of starters throwing out of the pen in the playoffs unless we are trying to save our pen for a game when we are winning. Id like to see a rotation of: Big Mike Maeda Berrios Dobnak Rich Hill would be odd man out for me, but is someone to pick up the slop innings in a blowout loss (which ain't happening this year!!). After the 5th inning, I like May, Duffey, Romo, and Rogers in no particular order. Rogers has had a tough go of it this year and it just seems like he doesn't have an 'out pitch' when I've watched him. His breaking ball is horrible when he's trying to throw it for a strike, what a hanger. Personally, I'd like to see May get more chances to close and use that lefty for more situational stuff.
  5. Best bat flipping prospect the Twins have ever seen. Not even close. Great nickname too. Park bang!
  6. When la tortuga flips off the lid and stretches that triple into a double with an amazing slide, you know the ladies LOVE him. He at least makes me excited.
  7. Is this an old article? I think I've seen it before.
  8. I have never seen this much optimism for a twins season. Its freakin awesome.
  9. We've had to rush prospects in the past because we didn't have major league players on our roster. Now we have them. Stop thinking about the future and look at the present folks. We have good players NOW. Let's enjoy this.
  10. We won 101 games last year. Prospects should be held back!
  11. My guess is that good hitting catchers that play solid defense are more difficult to replace than a good hitting outfielder/1B.
  12. Puckstopper- I just don't see any one complete shutdown stud that we can throw out at the end of games. We have a few decent options. Same as our starters. We have a lot of arms available, but no true stopper yet. I like the quality of our starters more than our bullpen.
  13. I don't see how we go from having an average bullpen to that being our deepest position group. Only one guy can pitch at a time and there is not a lot of rock solid guys in there. To me its Romo on the down slide and Rogers with 1 good year under his belt. My vote would've been infield or outfield. Infield has quality depth and options beyond our starters.
  14. He is clearly our top guy. We haven't been able to get someone of his caliber anywhere near the front door of our clubhouse thru trade or free agency. They need to take care of him. I'd build around him long term, he is still a super young talent. Lock him up.
  15. I like it. ERA of 6? We'll score at least 8, he's gonna win 20 this year. Put THAT in the bank!
  16. This isn't the NFL Thrylos, 2nd round picks MIGHT pan out someday, but saying that a 2nd round pick is worth more than Dozier is ridiculous. He's hit 20-30 jacks each year for the past few, he's played good defense, and he seems to be a decent guy that doesn't stir the pot in the clubhouse. Would love to see him get a good contract out of us and stay here for a few more years. We need to forget the Terry Ryan way, flipping good players for prospects. Having good players should be the goal. We have one, lets not make the mistake of dumping him to get the possibility of another one. I hope Gordon works out at some point, he's the shiny new toy that everyone wants to use NOW. We'll bring him up, dump Dozier and then we'll wish we had back those times when our 2B was the most productive hitter season after season. HR, SB, Runs, and RBI. This guy produces.
  17. Disagree, if he can even show up and hold a bat he should be swinging in the 4-hole.
  18. Anybody calling Big Papi fat? How about MIguel Cabrera? Sure, plenty of fat guys have fallen from grace, but this guy can straight up mash. If he can stay on the field, he's our most dangerous hitter, and it isn't even close. Cannot afford to let guys like Souhan and Reusse run this guy out of town. We need this dude in the middle of our lineup FOREVER.
  19. I feel like Berrios is getting closer to becoming that #1 guy we're looking for. Santana will be solid for us. I love what they're doing to fill the holes in the bullpen. I want to see what Gonsalves and May turn into. The Gibson we saw at the end of the year was pretty solid as well. We still do have a couple younger options that are getting close. We are getting closer to a full staff. I guess I've talked myself into going for one of the top 2 guys out there and spending to get him. Otherwise, hold off until the trade deadline and swap a couple guys to pick up a solid starter if it's looking like we're in the running.
  20. Hopefully he can recover fully and contribute at some point.
  21. We call it a logjam, but it's a logjam of mediocrity (at best) with guys 3-10. We still aren't close to a legit rotation, not one that any other team will have any concern about facing when playoff time rolls around anyway. When we can pencil in a rotation and say, Santana, Berrios, open, open, and open, that only says that we don't have any answers after them. C'mon Falvine, make some moves! I'd be so thrilled to see two or three of these guys moved for one guy that we KNOW we can pencil in, whether its a starter or in the bullpen.
  22. Dude has gotten better with time. He plays all the time, hits 30 jacks. The Twins need to be keeping their stars. Obviously you don't sign him to a 10-year deal, but this guy needs to be in our lineup. We can't afford to let him go somewhere else. I'm sick of seeing stars get dealt for prospects. The cool thing to do now days is get a new, young guy in there that is bound to be a star, but how often does that pan out? We have a 2B that hits for power at the top of our lineup that isn't a liability in the field? This is a no-brainer. SIGN HIM!!! Polanco and Gordon aren't going to supply the offense that this guy does.
  23. As long as Sano can react to a negative article/statement made by Souhan the way Gibby has over his last few starts... Great! Souhan is unreadable for me. He's just a waste of time. Maybe he thrives on the same bit as the Common Man does, but at least we all know that Common is just a clown. Souhan seems to take himself seriously and think that he is all-knowing. Can't stand him, makes me wanna puke. Go Twins.
  24. If Duffy has 4-5 pitches, how many did Pedro or Maddux have!?!
  25. Everyone wants to see the youngsters take over, I just hope that they're okay with another 100 loss season. Not that these 35+ year old vets are shut down pitchers by any means, but these kids have shown NOTHING yet. Duffy wouldn't pitch for any other mlb team. It's truly sad that we have to debate which of these guys needs to be on the roster. I'll take a chance and say that they will have all seen time by June.
