  1. Good luck to Mr. Perkins, and hope for a good recovery.
  2. That took longer than I thought it would. Not a Santana fan at all. He isn't good at one thing, imo. Me? I would have sent Park or Kepler down, and found a way for Arcia to play every day for a month. I don't think he'll be a Twin in 10 days. I do think he'll hit for someone.
  3. He felt he was picked in about the right spot. It isn't just about positional value.....
  4. What if he comes back and is bad again, like he has been in the past? Of course if he comes back and is good, that's good......but is that likely? Really likely?
  5. I think it is a bit early to say that about Berrios......very early. And probably wrong.
  6. KLAW stated today his he thinks his upside is above average RF with power.
  7. Understatement ..... but not the end of the world. Someone will break that streak, let's hope it is him!
  8. This was a great debate among my friends and me when we first had kids. Is Father's Day about doing something with your friends, or your kids? Not everyone agreed... I think your stance is mostly true for most families, from what I can see.
  9. I've been on record that this is the year we begin to learn what Stewart is or is not. I remain hopeful for sure.
  10. I agree, players need more time at AA and AAA, and less in A ball and pre-A ball....we agree on that. I think you are underestimating that success rate of the #1 prospect in baseball, and also how fast/young elite players actually come up. There was a study on FG (I think) a couple years ago that showed most / many ELITE players come and are good from age 21/22. Now, maybe all the ranking sites/people are wrong, maybe Sano and Buxton are both not elite. Maybe losing a year to injury put them back. I don't know what it is.....but I don't think it is unreasonable to wonder why this team is filled with old, bad players, this far into the rebuild. And almost none of the farmhands have turned out to add value yet. Gibson is the best to come up in the last 4 years.......isn't he? We are probably quibbling over the edge an argument we actually agree on. The Twins have done a poor job of developing players in the last 10 years......pretty much no one has come up and been good right away, and sustained that success.....and these are the reasons they are so terrible.
  11. Are you saying you wen thru all "400" position players, and looked to see if they were good right away? How about Cabrera? Stanton? Joe Mauer?
  12. I agree with this. It's not like Krikilloff was an elite, can't miss, top 3 pick. And, I really think Chargois will be a very good RP in MN. That greater certainty carries real value.
  13. I think Sano and Buxton were top 10 and 5 talents at one point.....should we expect Buxton to struggle like this, and still think he's elite? Also, those are some seriously cherry picked names, I can't imagine those are the only 4 players to excel....maybe Bryant did too...maybe some Mets pitchers did too. That's about the worst example of just making "stats" up ever, frankly.
  14. You agree that running out of options on a player w/o ever even getting 100 ABs in the majors is a good way to handle a player that is considered a legit prospect? Or, you agree that leaving him in AAA right now is a good idea?
  15. This. There is no hurry to get him up here, I don't think he's out of options (Polanco, Arcia)....why the rush on this guy? There are guys to rush, there are guys to work on. I'd rather they rotate the 4 guys that are up here, and see what Arcia can or cannot do. If anyone should be up, it is Polanco. But, once again, they appear to have a guy nearly out of options that they have very little MLB information on. Hard to believe.
  16. And, since he was likely hurt in MN, would be the right thing to do.
  17. Ryan is in charge. If he didn't want Chargois up, he should not have brought him up. If there are 40 man issues, well, that's on Ryan. And, there is chaffe....they could have found a better way to handle this.
  18. And the Twins have found how many of those in the last 10 years? 80% of their starting rotation was NOT drafted by MN this year.....and those that were? Duffey, for example?
  19. Interestingly (to me), when we moved, we found old coasters from my trip to Europe some 30 years ago.....(who knew I collected them, I didn't). I've been grabbing a coaster at most breweries we visit the last couple years, but I didn't remember those old ones. My wife decided to put them on the wall of one of our rooms as a decoration. There was actually a 30 year old one from Shoffenhofer. edit: man, I took what could have been a nice story, and made it boring......work. sigh.
  20. In the last 10 years? Wanna take that bet? And yes, the last 10 years matter more than guys drafted 25 years ago. The game has changed.
  21. A sac bunt in the 2nd? No wonder the MLB team isn't baseball smart. Unreal. As for Chargois....there were 100% other ways to handle this, they chose this route, 100% TR chose this route. No one tied their hands. They weren't forced to do this. This was their decision. I'm tired of the "we had no other choice" way they treat their prospects.
  22. Dang, good luck to him in his recovery. It sucks to be injured.
  23. Just caught up after flying back home and going to a brewery. Yes, I like cider. Yes, this team sucks. Yes, apparently defense matters. Yes, I am glad I cannot see this team.
  24. I think they should be aggressively shopping pretty much anyone over 27 or so.
