    Given the Kubel / Bartlett spring, it is hard for me to see how Antony (who didn't know what many advanced stats were a few years ago) could be a top candidate at this point......I suppose he could surprise us all, but we only know what we know. We know what his 1 spring looked like, and we know he had literally no idea about advanced stats when they were already in the public domain for years.

    This. But, ya, DSP has that job, and Pohlad has already said DSP would be involved in the decision making, so, ya.....not happening. Not a Cherrington fan. He undid a lot of what Epstein did, imo.

    I have to agree with that last part. Pohlad and St. Peter are good at things, no doubt. You can see it in the success of various actions. But, like you, I am not confident that either one knows the first thing about hiring a good GM.

    This is such a well written, even handed piece! Thank you Seth. There is not some good vs evil, binary, thing in life........and Ryan had strengths and weaknesses like we all do. I think it was time, but this whole thing seems very oddly handled to me. Seriously well written, Seth.

    Ya, I went there first, and the page was not loading, so I re-installed iHeartRadio......next time my stupid phone runs out of space (wish more apps could move to the SD card)....it will be gone again.

Said that, to his understanding, "I don't have any constraints." Asked if he had any indication that team wishes for a Braves-style rebuild, Antony said: "No, I don't think we'll look at that at all."

    Katie Strang ESPN.com Minnesota Twins interim GM Rob Antony said he was informed of the team's decision to have him replace Terry Ryan in the 6th inning of last night's game. He spoke with Ryan afterwards and said Ryan was "very supportive." Antony said that Ryan has known that ownership planned to go in a different direction for two weeks but did not reveal to anyone. Manager Paul Molitor is addressing the team now.

    If I could make 10% in income, and build equity? I'd take that investment every single day. I'd put every penny I had into it if it was this low risk. I imagine the cash flow is even better than the income* *that said, we are at best guessing on the income or cash flow of the Twins....

    I think it is too early to guess that Ryan was not for what you want this trade deadline and Pohlad was for what you want (no matter what you want)........or vice versa.
