  2. One of hte two AL East teams probably will win one of the WC, barring major injuries/surprises. I'd rank the contendors: MN (this is overly optimistic compared to most models) LAA (Ohtani is 23, adjusting to a new country, and coming off an injury. He'll get better) If the Twins had a 23 yo up, with that stuff, people would be excited. TOR/TEX White Sox (the most highly variable team this year imo) BAL TB (they'd be in first if not for the injuries) SEA
  3. I agree, making the decision to not keep Busenitz up more puzzling to me. Kinley does not have enough upside, compared to how easy it is to find RP on the market, or convert starters, to waste a 25 man spot on him for the year. And if he's only used in wasted games, they'll never really know if he is. There are only 25 spots....a playoff contendor should not be wasting one, or two, if you count Hughes....
  4. Not sure I understand what Buesnitz would have had to do last year to show he's better than Kinley, who put up worse numbers in the miinors than Alan didin the majors.....Are they trying to win this year, or not?
  5. They still get half of Polanco, and Escobar is not as bad as people here seem to think. Really, those two look about even on projections....but as the article says, Polanco you can dream on. Esco is what he is.
  6. About what you'd expect, I think.... https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-shortstop/
  7. Number two in all of baseball. Implying Dozier will get paid, imo. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-second-base/
  8. Not worried. He'll be better this year. He's young. And while not all young players get better, Kepler and his background, indicate he will.
  9. Lower than I'd hoped....is Sano really only going to be around top 10? https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-third-base/
  10. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-first-base/ Joe below median, and 25+% below the top ten players in runs created.

  12. There seems to be some confusion here...... Understanding does not equal condoning. I don't know how to make this more clear.
  13. Yes, and? Also not sure he's made generations of money yet, regardless of how it compares to your wages.
  14. Fair. And I would not do it. But I also am not from a poor nation, with an entire family to support, maybe for generations. But fair.
  15. I actually said none of that....but nice straw man. I said it was easy to sit back and pass judgement on someone, when none of us are in the same position. I never said he had the right to do this, nor did I say that he should not be punished, since these are the rules.....never once did I say anything you just typed. OTOH, I do think it is a stupid rule that should go away, but that is a different discussion that has nothing to do with the post you quoted.
  16. It's pretty easy to sit back at your computer and say that people trying to preserve their (and their family's....many from poor countries, oddly coincidentally) future should just not do everything in their power to do so....you aren't at jeopardy of losing millions of dollars. As if Tom Kelly didn't throw away syringes back in the day.....teams know. They only care when players get caught. Thinking otherwise seems naive to me.
  17. Disagree. The team has plenty of money to pay him....this team control thing is something we've all fallen for. Team control is code for "keep paying him less than he's worth." That said, he's not ready, and I'm one of his biggest supporters here...
  18. How bad would he have to be to be cooked? He was bad. Not good. He's not even a good backup, let alone starter.
  19. Aybar is not good. This is bad. We just can't have nice things as Minnesota fans
