Why bring Austin North, if you don't use him? Same with Astudillo? I like Kepler, but that's why those two are on the roster. And, yes, Mejia should be in there. In a month or two, he'll be a starter when Parker is cut.
I think there needs to be a balance between defense, and late inning offense......so after inning 6, I'm more than willing to PH for him if they need a hit or two....
I'm very glad they didn't pinch run for their DH, the last manager drove me crazy doing that (though he often did it with 2 outs, and the DH on first, IIRC, which is not a good idea, imo).
even if Romero comes up and is great, Pressley would still be good to have on the team. I'm not sure there is a "good chance" that it will work, what are the odds of either player contributing even 1 WAR in any given season?
when people look at trades for prospects, they almost always discount the current year or three's cost, and only look to the future. Like this year doesn't count in the equation....
As someone that never uses his glutes (and really should do his therapy again) I totally see how this would work. Glad they are doing stuff like this, frankly....
Great write-up. Are any of last year's pitchers on the roster this year? They really need some help from the minors that sticks, and contributes. How many hitters? Debuts are nice. Serious contributions are needed.
If Romero can't help.....it will be another reminder why trading minor league guys for actual MLB players is maybe a better idea than some here will admit.... That said, I have every confidence he'll be a good RP someday.
