    The Twins aren't signing him to 20+ million a year. Is this a real conversation at this point? They aren't putting 30% of their payroll into catcher. What makes you think they are raising the payroll substantially next year? There are lots of better ways to spend 20 million per year than a guy that will catch 81 games.

    Let's look at Boston: Zero chance they deal any of their top 4 prospects for Jeffers. Zero. Their next 4 are in A+ or lower. Yuck. Houston? Barren farm system. Their best players don't crack MN top 10. Not happening unless you get 2-3 of those guys. Atlanta? Zero guys above A+ that aren't in the majors already. TX: Hmmmm. maybe there is a deal to be made? But I doubt anyone here would love it. NYY: Yes, they have guys. This seems possible, if they right the ship after the break. Phillies: They have three SPs in AA, all are ok prospects. You might be able to make a deal here. White Sox: Not happening. Hmmmm....unless a different teams steps forward, they might just keep Jeffers. I'd deal him, but if these systems are the only real options, yuck.

    Zero Zero zero chance he nets a top 50 prospect. Catchers only catch 1/2 to 70 percent of their games. You're not getting a top 50 prospect for 50 games of Jeffers. Zero chance. You might get a 45+ guy, which puts him in the 100-150 range. MAYBE that and a low A player.

    15 players got 20 MM or more per year last year. 8 of those were starting pitchers. So, 7 hitters got that: Soto, Bregman, Alonso (2 years), Adames, Hernandez (Dodgers, so that's not real), Buehler (1 year deal), Christian Walker. Which of those is Jeffers close to?

    Sure....but how many guys were even close to an option in those three for the Twins? Zero?

    This. Changing positions is mentally taxing. Stop putting him at short, where he will only ever play if Culpepper and Houston both fail. Which, if that happens, lots of bad things happened.

    I also think they hold Jenkins down, depending completely on their record and Buxtons health..... I think they hold the shortstop Culpeper down also, again depending on record and health. They'll want those two eligible to play at the beginning of the lockout, and to win rookie of the year. Unless, of course, they've really changed their tune at the top of the org... hahahaha.

    No chance he gets 5 100, imo. 5 75 is my guess.

    He's not close to that good though. Are we really comparing him to Raleigh? Catchers don't make giant money. He'd be a fool not to accept 1. 23.... And be a free agent the next year. It's been a nice half year, pretty much what projection systems said, even if we fans weren't believers. But I can't see keeping Jeffers. Bradley has been amazing. The Twins and he deserve a lot of credit for his improvement. Matthews shows the value of moving mediocre starters to the bullpen, something they should do more over time. For the roster crunch? I'm dealing Bell if possible, with Buxton and Larnach splitting time at DH. Got to keep Byron healthy. If that doesn't work, maybe Larnach if I can get a prospect I can make a RP quickly. This is tricky....

    I don't know. Can you find any evaluator who thinks he can stick at catcher. They lost the guy that taught Jeffers...... I'm hoping everyone else is wrong and they are right...

    How good do you expect Lee to be? How good has he been since moving to third? He's in the top half of all 3b in baseball since the move. That seems good to me. How fast are you really expecting people to estay themselves? That was a great draft.
