  1. I expect a pretty bad pitcher, given what he's been this year.
  2. They are settled. Sometimes they pinch hit late and move guys, but the infield is set.
  3. Then why trade for them? And, he's a bad defender.
  4. Like whom? To replace whom?
  5. Detmers is at twice his innings from last year, people seem oddly unconcerned about that. What would you give up for 1.5 years of him?
  6. I agree, keeping Jeffers helps convince fans they aren't giving up. I also agree, I have zero interest in giving up the future for this roster. If they get a great player with three years of control, I'm listening.....
  7. You have to drop to the 25th to thirtieth best prospect for the Twins, to be as "good" as what was traded for Gausman..... I think the twins wanted the year of control for a guy with a six ERA though, rather than the rental great pitcher.
  8. I mean, we agree. But we aren't the owner and GM.
  9. He's also not a good fielder.
  10. Great writing Nick. I see almost no way Jeffers goes. I think they deal for Call, who hasn't put up 1.5 war, is 31, and short side platoon..... I think they get one more bad starting pitcher. They call up neither Jenkins or Culpeper.
  11. They just dealt a top fifty guy, so so far it's very different. If the Twins deal a top fifty guy, I really can't wait for a sale.
  12. The beauty of Call is he's under control for years, and a below average hitter overall, so he can block other guys for years ! He's also 31, so likely approaching decline years.
  13. We likely won't agree.
  14. Platoon bats don't move the needle. Especially short side ones. He might play 25 percent of the games, so like 15-20. So, yes, to me? I don't like it at all.
  15. WTF is Toronto doing?
  16. Do the Phillies even have a minor league player left at this point? Wow.
  17. Mind. Boggling. Truly.
  18. Of those, I trust Lee the most. I like Keaschell, it's all about what position he ends up at. I think he's the kind of guy that is a great 4th OF and possible sub at second or first. But I'm only mildly confident. But it's early. Lewis? It's no secret I'm not a big fan. I have no idea who he is. Obviously, if he's the guy he's been since his return, he's a fine first baseman. But I have real doubts he can stay healthy, let alone productive. All that typed, I think he ends up a slightly above average hitter as a first baseman. But he's gone in two years? Or is it three?
  19. The reds should expect two top 100 guys, given the contract. That's not enough to get him.
  20. I think they have a good shot. I wish they'd act that way, or not. But this half measure stuff is not my jam.
