  1. who is the joke on, again? I'd at least like to get a chuckle out of this.
  2. Home runs and hero worship, I am guessing? And not a lot of the subtleties that occur in the middle innings I am guessing..
  3. I think baseball needs an axe man like in football. I think Gardy would have a really tough time breaking the news to Kubel personally, but my understanding is it's the managers job to do that.
  4. Bumping this. This hits at a core issue. Fuld goes on the 7 day concussion and is permitted as much comfort and time as possible, allowed to wait until he has several consecutive symptom free days before resuming baseball activities. Hicks comes off the 7 day concussion and a week later, his work ethic is questioned. Anyone care to clarify this?
  5. Sounds great. Let's call the Yankees this morning and tell them not to bother showing up
  6. Kubel has been having better at bats, been seeing the ball well in batting practice. Hitting it all over the place. So say Gardy and Kubel. Meanwhile, does Kubel really need to still bat in the middle of the lineup and take at-bats from Pinto? Good grief...
  7. It's possible you might be right about the Santana-CF/Hicks-curveball comment. Time will tell. Santana is not a center fielder though. Not right now anyway. The only reason I can think that he is out there is that Gardy is given free rein to run the roster any way he chooses. Specifically, Santana has given up on shallow fly balls that could have been caught. Santana seems to lack the awareness to communicate with other fielders well. He cannot position himself under a fly ball in a sac-fly situation. His throws are off mark regularly. His speed bails him out on misjudged fly balls. Et cetera. He's doing the best he can, but that doesn't mean he should be out there. This is only based off comments I've read and a few short video clips at MLB. I've only been able to watch a few innings live. Someone else might be able to give you a more succinct answer.
  8. Yeah but drawing straws really doesn't work with only two catchers
  9. Short and to the point, and I agree. Dozier should have a day off Sunday. Let's see one of those old fashioned Tom Kelly getaway day lineups tomorrow!
  10. Basically what Thrylos said: a Meyer type prospect at minimum. Might not seem fair but the Twins would be bargaining from a position of need, against other teams who also are seeking outfield help.
  11. Yes. LaValle also reported that in the story linked above.
  12. Well this game turned into a snoozer
  13. I am tellin' ya, Arcia is the leader of this team!
  14. Arcia... unbelievable throw to the plate to end the inning...
  15. I am a lip reader. She is clearly complaining about the center field situation.
  16. Uh oh I feel some Hitler/Downfall vids coming ...
  17. Dozier -- correction, thanks LaBombo
  18. That rundown was Twins Baseball of yore... From Arcia, Suzuki, and Mauer --- solid play fellas!
  19. Nolasco dropping some curves of his own...
  20. That paragraph is better than a gif
  21. um, pass me the trade chips please
