  1. Per Scoggins, Dougie says Polanco is MLB ready right now: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/18515-scoggins-chattanoogas-grade-a-talent-in-aa-town/ If Vargas is even an incremental improvement for the lineup, I say bring him in. Twins have been dealt a great hand in 2015 and should look for whatever edge they can, even more so while they're in the race. I applaud the Twins for improving their outfield situation by calling up Rosario and Hicks. Let's keep going.
  2. I'm not as down on the catching situation as others, and I get the sense the Twins are perfectly happy with it. Thus I've given up on the idea of seeing Pinto at all, barring significant injury to Herrmann or Suzuki, even though Pinto is the best hitter of that group.
  3. Calling up Vargas would immediately improve the lineup and I honestly don't see how it would derail his development. He's been around the block now. It would probably even help, with getting to the 1,000 at-bat benchmark and all that stuff people talk about.
  4. I can sniff the "exceeded expectations" narrative already. The Twins need to go all-in on this!!
  5. Bottom of ninth starting, trailing by 2. Turn that sackcloth bag inside out, boys, give it a shake, and find just a bit more of that magic dust for us!!!
  6. Agree. The Twins need to get dead serious with their roster construction before the KC series Monday.
  7. I am formally declaring, at this moment, the Twins have run out of their magic pixie dust.
  8. guys at the bottom of the order usually sacrifice, Chief-----hold on, someone is saying something in my ear...
  9. Are we seeing more splintering bats again, or is it just me? (It might be just me)
  10. That is also debatable. There are articles that actually report on that differently. Some say he stopped pitching because of his shoulder, and others say because of the innings limit. The bottom line for me is he had reached his innings limit and wasn't going to be pitching in September under any circumstances. I give the Twins credit for keeping the guy healthy, actually. Another reason I think the bullpen move is good for him.
  11. His BB/9 has never been microscopic, but it doesn't need to be. His command was fine until recently.
  12. Great stuff. Enjoy those road trips.
