I don't know how Lucroy hits a defensive excuse me swing for an opposite field base hit, and....... Braun destroys a pitch that Numez jumps ten feet in the air to snag for the third out. I don't even know how infielders react to those line drives
Even really good teams don't always find themselves in first place in mid-June. Kansas City is more than capable of some insane 50-28 type start one of these years, which would leave everyone else in the dust. Twins are in first place and should adjust accordingly!
You will occasionally see guys pitch out of their minds for an entire season. I think that describes Pelfrey in 2015. Admit it, nobody is nervous anymore when Pelf's turn in the rotation comes.
The left fielder did bobble on Rosario's hit. As did the right fielder on Escobar's hit. The Rosario double will probably stand, considering the relay throw to the plate almost hit Rosario in the head running halfway between second and third. Torii was safe at home by a mile but I guess in theory the Brewers could have cut off the throw to home plate in order to hold Rosario at second. I am surprised it's not a triple though. There's the long winded answer.
In 1902 the manager of the New York Giants refused to allow his team to play the inferior American League "champion" team in a thing called a World-Series.** If the Twins win the AL pennant, they should refuse to play a World Series ** I may have a fact or two wrong
In the offseason, Seth rated Oliveros #2 overall for minor league relievers in 2014. Oliveros has followed through again this year and done well. Also he's made multiple starts now, so he's versatile.
You are correct, I did twist it a little. I think what Mientkiewicz was quoted as saying was Polanco is "without question" the "most ready" to be promoted from among that group of Chattanooga guys. That's saying quite a bit. In that context I thought the reference is to MLB. For example, nobody is talking about whether Buxton is ready to be promoted to AAA Rochester.
I can get behind most of this, except maybe Hicks has a slight temporary edge in the field over Buxton, given Hicks' familiarity with MLB and he's fielding center really well right now. Hicks being prone to lapses, that might change, however.
