  1. yeah when Sano check swings, it's a slump
  2. Maine lobsters come from their natural ocean environment, while South Dakota lobster is grass fed. Thus, the flavor.
  3. Actually not a good at bat by Sano there.
  4. I do miss the Robinson-Schafer debate in center, however.
  5. Wow Buxton. Line drive smoked and he raced in to catch it, doing a little roll at the end. That is not an easy catch in that situation!
  6. Those were some of the hardest hit line drives in the history of baseball in that inning. Glad we had the outfielders to make the plays.
  7. Springer didn't bite on the high cheese. Those were a little too outside for him to bite at.
  8. Springer is up. 0-4 4 K's and error in top of inning. Please no payback ....
  9. Hard contact from all three batters so far. Hope Jepsen and Suzuki can get on the same page.
  10. Welcome to right field, Aaron Hicks
  11. looked like he was on a dead sprint and wasn't quite in control enough to get his arm up and make the catch. Good effort, though.
  12. Ervin Santana. 8 innings. 119 pitches. 11 K's
  13. CBU 1-0 Astros but something brewing. Two one, none out, middle of order coming up. Somewhere chief is saying to himself, "in play, run(s) please"
  14. Get in front of that scorching thing, if for no other reason that no one else will want to, and it could hurt someone. You could call that "taking one for the team"
  15. It could be a line drive, you know.
  16. Score update......0-0 middle of 3rd I hope they pull this one out tonight, doesn't get easier tomorrow.
  17. Every Sano strikeout gets us closer to his next home run. (cheap illogical motivational talk that I learned in my sales days)
  18. Here is an interesting wrinkle on this debate. We'll see how the Mets play it. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/147594872/matt-harvey-doctor-gave-me-180-innings-limit
  19. Yep. Bring up a guy like Meyer or Burdi, let him load the bases on walks, and then strike out the side. Net result: zero runs. Doesn't quite work that way of course, but I agree with what you are saying. Pelfrey almost did that last night, but couldn't quite get that final strikeout pitch, and gave up the grand salami instead. Oh wait, this is the bullpen thread, and Pelfrey is a starter. I'll see myself out.
  20. Not sure where you got some of this data.. though he did pitch in the middle of games in spring training you might be referring to... It was fun to look up Pelfrey's last official relief appearance. It was in April of 2010 as a Met, and he came in to pitch the bottom of the 20th inning (not a typo) of a game against the Cardinals. He recorded a save. Fangraphs says his average fastball velocity that day was only 90.9 MPH, however. EDIT Oops that was the second to last time, not the last time. But still fun. He pitched once in relief in 2011, which my same sources say came after 2010.
  21. Plus the three good starts pitching to Fryer in Rochester: 1.74 ERA, 11:4 K/BB
