  1. Welp almost 8-2 there after that foul ball Still within shouting distance in the bottom of the 9th
  2. Scott Blewett wasnt there a player named SuckedTonight available?
  3. Well they will at least have something to tell their grandkids about this season lol
  4. “A.I., create a Star Wars Flintstones joke out of this”
  5. His financial advisor is actually creating a Max Kepler resume instead of thumbing through the Rolodex for MLB teams who need right fielders.
  6. I did not know that either. Thanks, IndiansTwin
  7. Great job Wallner backing that up. I feel like Kepler might have been checking his smartphone out there.
  8. We needed that ump two nights ago! 🤣
  9. We are talking about .106/208/234 slash lines here SF 13, Jets 7
  10. Baltimore sleeper agent Cade Povich not doing the Twins a solid tonight. Four runs given up to Boston early.
  11. It's not just the Twins and the Angels; MLB, even good teams, is littered with guys like that (Note: Human beings aren't actually litter)
  12. Why not try Keirsey in center and Castro at 2B
  13. Good long life, but you are probably right. Cheers! 🍻 Predicting a big night for Royce tonight
  14. Watcha rehearsing for tonite? To be the new voice of Darth Vader? (too soon?)
  15. In this case, to show leadership and support the young guys. I may disagree that they need that but we’ve been told, over and over, that’s part of the job of the veterans. True, guys stay home to rehab all the time, but nothing is preventing them from requesting they go on a trip and take their rehab with them. Yes Correa may need to stay back and has an excellent reason to do so which may help the team later this season. Also I did hear the radio thing correctly.
  16. Lexi Schweinert said on the radio today that Correa, Kepler, Buxton and Margot were all on the field this morning doing some running. Then I wondered if she meant Target Field, not Kauffman Stadium? Then I thought she probably meant jogging, not sprinting, because sprinting would be some legitimate news. (Pics or it didn't happen.) Foot, knee, hip and groin injuries do not prevent you from doing morning warmups, nor do they prevent you from flying charter. Atteberry or Perkins also spilled at one point that the team expected Buxton to be on the KC trip, but he wasn't. I don't know why they singled out Buxton. Did Rocco gave his team an ass chewing after the game today. If he did, I think he needed to wait until the team got back to the cities to include those four named above, who deserve it at least as much. That's my opinion on it.
  17. Actually, it sounded like Ober wanted to stay in the game. I was listening on the radio. It’s always hard to tell on the radio but everyone here and on the radio seems unanimous that Ober was in full control. When even Chief says to leave the starter in… 🙂 The radio announcers said Ober was standing in the dugout in the top of the 8th, with his glove on, watching the Twins finish their at bat. Like he was going to come out to pitch the bottom of the 8th. Even though all the coaches had already patted him on the back signalling he was done. Then when Duran came out for the bottom of the 8th, apparently Ober left the dugout and disappeared into the clubhouse. Rocco has been saying someone needs to step up. Well, sounds like Ober was willing to be that guy tonight. To finish this thing or die trying. A “jump on my back, boys” type of moment. Didn’t happen.
  18. No, you shouldn’t say that. We have provided a little more leeway on this type of stuff lately but that could change at any moment, retroactively, without notice.
  19. Well right— if you realize that it’s more of a promotion than a demotion. Also, have this gif of Mookie Betts bowling a 300 game.
  20. I started by looking for Royce’s 80-20 scouting grades from 2017. These are proprietary but widely shared publicly. That said, I could not find his fielding ones and did not want to search forever. I’m fine with the judgment that Lewis has bad hands; I would estimate his grade for shortstop would then be 40 (50 being average). Can you find Lewis’s 2017 scouting grade for fielding and post it? actually @tony&rodney it’s not that big a deal. My well being doesn’t depend on knowing Royce Lewis’s scouting grades. 🙂 You are a good poster here and it doesn’t really matter if another poster (me) thinks you are coming completely out of left field on this. Peace
  21. I will get back to you before then.
  22. @Riverbrian you were ok with Polanco at shortstop but not Royce Lewis?
  23. From an old bleacherreport article I dug up. Evaluators are still split on where Lewis will settle in defensively, but there's little question he has the tools to be an impact offensive player. As for the aforementioned defensive question, Baseball America offered this: “He played center field often on the summer showcase circuit preceding his senior year and showed plus range and flashes of advanced defensive instincts. He has the quick feet and plus arm strength required to play shortstop, though scouts aren't certain that he'll make the necessary adjustments as he continues to fill out and the speed of the game advances.” [BA] @Mike Sixel @tony&rodney @chpettit19
  24. This is all secondary effects from making the huge bet on Carlos Correa as the shortstop of the future, instead of Lewis or Lee. A so-called “good problem to have” with too many position players is still a problem, and in this case, it’s becoming a bigger problem. Lewis was the #1 pick in 2017, he was announced as a shortstop that night if I am not mistaken, he played shortstop almost exclusively in the minors, suffered some setbacks along the way, but made it to the show and never gave up on himself. The Twins, however, did give up on him. Shame. What is this team’s vision? That is the bigger question. I think they have done ok though a little thin building around their big guys on the pitching staff (Lopez, Duran) but their infield plan is a mess.
