  1. Matt Bush - what a story And what a season he is having.
  2. It may be that you are foresaken, but it wouldn't be by your ability/inability to spell/misspell Plouffe's name
  3. Only two runs. This can be done. Their bullpen has blown some games recently. And Dozier gets the rally started
  4. 0-2 count Gimme a fat fastball waist high down the middle
  5. Looks like Erv pitched well Or at the minimum, musta done a few things good
  6. Well that's the flip side of the same coin (as you pointed out). He brings in free agents who generate value, and then he doesn't move them or even lets them hang around longer than he originally planned for them. Because they're polite to the executives or don't play their music too loud in the clubhouse or something.
  7. Good questions ! ...I have no answers sorry to get your hopes up..
  8. You should start a thread....
  9. Your argument is exactly the trap described in Moneyball. One of the themes was that scouting was fallible, and worse, scouts can fall in love and project qualities and expectations onto prospects that prospects can't live up to. Which is not to bash scouts at all. It's up to the GM to synthesize all the information they provide. Using stat lines is a terrible way to evaluate talent, but it's less terrible than all the other ways. Maybe the Twins have pitch level or StatCast type of data on all these guys, but if they do, they are certainly not exploiting it like Beane exploited OBP for a while. Why are Stewart, Gonsalves, and Jay all better prospects than Hu? I can't be sure, but it's probably because some old school scouts with radar guns said so, and then it gets repeated and amplified over and over. There is probably not much separating the chances of Gonsalves, Jay or Hu making it to the show as starters for a brief Slowey type of career, and certainly very little in the basic stat lines separate them, at least not yet, and since Kohl Stewart can't miss bats as well (going by strikeout totals), he should probably lag behind the other three on any ranking list. Stewart has good "stuff" but so does Meyer. And we all hope it finally clicks for one of them.
  10. Its good to hear your baseball opinions occasionally, however few and far between they come
  11. Not exactly sure, but think it has something to do with managing to win.
  12. Danny Santana batting and Buxton to be pinch hit for. Oh vey.
  13. Polanco has played almost exclusively at 2nd in the minors this season. But he has looked good playing shortstop with the Twins earlier this year. And of all the infield positions, we have the greatest need at short, imo.
  14. They have really exceeded the expectations I had for them going into the season.
  15. I heard somebody, I think Atteberry, call it a "win sandwich" with the loss in the middle And yes it's at risk again today
  16. The radio guys just announced that Tim Anderson, just drew his first major league base on balls, off of Milone. 83 plate appearances. #TwinsBaseball #PitchtoContact #EddieRosarioNeedstobePatient
  17. Don't worry. He'll move back to third when Sano comes back.
  18. I'm ok optioning Park after his promotion night on the 5th, or optioning Park when Sano comes back, but no way in hell does Sano need to rehab or stay in Rochester for another week.
  19. There is a big Byung ho Park promotion at Target Field on Tuesday July 5, so probably not Park. I'm ok with that though I wish Molitor had the sense to not play Park every game through this terrible slump. At this point I would guess a bullpen arm is optioned.
