A case can be made to trade Dozier, and that the Twins won't compete in 2017, but it seems pretty unsustainable to trade every player of value at every trade deadline.
And since the manager is usually closest to the lineup card in the dugout, and could have said something when Braun went up to the on deck circle, the manager apparently forgot that he switched them, too. Great job all around!
Did anybody hear a while ago Gladden say (slip out?) that teams have been calling about Vargas? I know, negativity police, I will show myself out back of the game thread and to the discussion boards.....
Trade Dozier? Not sure. Seems like he's the closest thing we have to a leader and universally liked guy on the team. Dozier plays 2B exclusively. Polanco has always been one of the top prospects in this organization and is out of options next season. Polanco also plays 2B exclusively in the minors. So barring an imminent trade or moving Polanco to short, I'm not sure what their plan is for Polanco.
agree so maybe it's not exactly a heart warming story since Bush hurt a lot of people, but he hit absolute rock bottom and now he's back in the majors. There's gotta be some redemption in that worth mentioning.
Call me crazy but I think this is one of those rare times when decency should have taken priority above baseball. Park had a promotion coming up, however ill planned it was. Park could have sat on the bench a few more days in a season like this until his promotion day, and then been optioned shortly after. Everybody can see he is struggling but maybe there were some fans still looking forward to meeting him that day. We could have optioned or cut one of the bullpen guys in the meantime.
not necessarily, but you will see it again and again on other occasions in the future There is always the condensed games MLB posts, the editors will surely leave it in there http://mlb.mlb.com/mediacenter/ It's the way he is rarely fooled by the flight of the ball and effortlessly covers so much ground
Dear Byron, Please do not look down at your right wrist and flex it like that immediately after making a great catch against the fence and bracing yourself with said right wrist. It scares us. Sincerely, Twins Daily game thread denizens
yep A fraction of an inch down the bat barrel and a popup to the center field warning track becomes something quite different Oops ninja'd by original author
