You are right not all do, but I will estimate about half these guys going back and forth do if you count Gibson and Mejia. By the way, yes this now really does feel like last season.

I want to pose another question to the group here: With the Front Office shuttling relievers with fresh arms back and forth from Rochester so frequently, is it really necessary to carry 8 relievers then? (13 man staff instead of 12)?

His agent must be working the phones

I think Pressly just needs a mental break, not a demotion. Well he can have that mental break in Rochester now. Heaven forbid Breslow or Belisle be cut loose.

Who do you mean by Wilson--Wheeler?

    way too soon, right?

Grossman has basically only started on doubleheader days or as a platoon split substitute. And he's not any good, anyway. And as the poster noted, Grossman figures to be the primary full time DH with Vargas out of the picture. We are talking about needing an additional player who is a good outfielder so we don't have to send Adrianza, Escobar or even Sano out there in a pinch.

The time has come to consider calling up Granite for stretches.

Mauer finally missed a hop, late in the game last night. Except for the dropped pop up, Mauer has been spectacular. However, the Twins just optioned his only back up so I'm hoping Mauer is in the lineup every day until Vargas returns. I'm not sold on the notion any player can step in and play first base (i.e., Gimenez or Sano) without unnecessary risk of making a costly mistake.

To me, demoting Rucinski immediately after the game points more toward the manager and FO not being on the same page that day, than otherwise. Particularly since the game was not close. And a 6 run lead entering the 8th is not a close game, any way you slice it. Like Dave said, no one looks good here.
