  1. Meyer will be eligible to come off the DL the day prior to the Twins beginning a four game series in Anaheim. I would love to see Meyer pitch against the Twins!
  2. May I direct you to this thread http://twinsdaily.com/topic/26090-berardino-twins-focus-on-nutrition/
  3. Beeker is actually 24, but has a mild case of homerun-itis in his past few starts at Cedar Rapids. Based only on following them via the MiLB site, I think the chances are good that one or both of Poppen and Beeker are in high A Fort Myers before long, and to stick around a while after that!
  4. The Kernels were felled by the LumberKings, 3-2, yesterday afternoon. Beeker left the game after the sixth, but did not figure in the decision. 6 IP, 6 hits, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO According to MiLB, Beeker committed a throwing error in the 6th inning after fielding a sacrifice bunt. On the next batter, Beeker fielded another bunt and retired the lead baserunner at third. Beeker also picked off a baserunner at first base in the game.
  5. Cedar Rapids defeated the Clinton LumberKings earlier this evening, 9-2, behind another good performance by Eddie Del Rosario. 6 IP, 3 hits, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 SO Del Rosario faced 24 batters; his strike out rates remain high. One last note: With a runner on first and two outs in the sixth, Del Rosario threw a wild pitch, followed by a passed ball, to move the runner to third, but the runner did not score.
  6. Del Rosario pitched on May 20, when Cedar Rapids defeated the Wisconsin TimberRattlers, 4-2. Del Rosario turned in a much-needed good performance: 8 IP, 5 hits, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO The only runs against the Kernels came in the 8th, on a two-out, two-run double surrendered to Wisconsin's Demi Orimoloye, a fourth round pick in 2015 who was born in Nigeria and grew up in Ottawa.
  7. One of these things is not like the other Google search:
  8. Reaching the 25th win in other notable seasons: 1982 - game 83 (not a typo) 1987 - game 48 1991 - game 50 2000 - game 54 (the last 90-loss season of the "1990s") 2001 - game 35 (came out of nowhere to compete for division) 2002 - game 42 (first trip to postseason since '91) 2017 - game 43
  9. the stain of 2016 aside, a 50/50 chance to get a wildcard/postseason berth this season sounds about right at this point!
  10. I would claim that Ervin Santana's first ten starts have been "fairly effective", but perhaps I should wait until the end of the season before making that determination.
  11. Quite likely. We badly need a good defensive outfielder who can come in late. I was thinking Mauer PH draws walk, Gimenez tries the sac bunt, and we take our chances with Buxton, Dozier, Polanco. Maybe Molitor is saving Mauer to pinch hit for Sano in the 9th. Might not be a bad idea.
  12. The Davis homer was predictable, but maybe not the second one. Welcome to the big leagues, kid!

  14. Given what happened Monday with Baltimore's disappearing 5-0 lead, I'd prefer it if the Twins went from 4-0 straight to 6-0 didn't happen boo
  15. Let's hope Berrios brings out that cool, calm, "having fun state of mind" that Santana is pitching with right now.
  16. You're doing great--please remain standing
