  1. You know who is warming up in the you know what
  2. "That 'll get the runner over," said the sacrifice bunter
  3. So the Sox are going to win by basically putting the bat on the ball. Funny, that
  4. I haven't seen the powder blue throwbacks in a long time.
  5. Is this the team with the guy named Bummer? They should put that guy in. We always hit him.
  6. It's going terribly. But which one were you referring to?
  7. I think their plan is Analytics!! but also know that having the best players helps
  8. Yeah we're stuck with those guys like it or not.
  9. Is that Molitor's new rule, all pitchers he removes must stand in a line and watch the next guy?
  10. Dozier reminds self he will be a free agent
  11. Thanks for the update. That's a huge bummer. I was hoping the strikeouts could be chalked up to a lot of called strikes he was taking trying to track pitches better.
  12. Just read his wiki page. Oy. He does check some boxes, for better or worse. We'll see.
  13. Harper's side is saying no deal, unless we throw in the north shore property up to Two Harbors.
  14. Not sure who the Democrats will conspire to win the nomination in 2020. Bernie doesn't interest me, not that he has a snowball's chance, though he probably feels entitled.
  15. Can't agree enough with the past few comments. But the lesson Democrats will take away is to double down on what they're already doing. Because bernie bros, or Comey, or something.
  16. Ah, I think I see where you are coming from now. (Maybe because I didn't choose to read the Souhan column.) No, Joe does not need to sign a small contract to earn back good will from people who have it out for him. No. I just think he will sign a small contract anyway. But no he doesn't "need" to do that to "make things right" with his current contract. I think you said that but the point got lost somehow.
  17. I have never once begrudged Mauer for his big contract. (maybe someone can comb through every thread, just to be sure.) However, if he comes back for 2019, I peg his salary at about 5 or 6 million, which of course would be a small discount on his expected war for 2019. I think there's a place for him on the team. If his side inexplicably demands multiple years or double figure millions, I'm not sure how long I negotiate, if I'm the front office.
  18. search up "baseball card vandals" and you get some really creative stuff (and some pretty childish stuff) but it's definitely worth a look.
  19. Yep, I don't think the Hunter contract is the benchmark for this. Joe is one of a kind. He has the money. He either wants to play next year, or doesn't, and if he does want to play I'm not sure why he would drive a hard negotiation.
  20. That's a reasonable opinion. Mauer can still contribute.
  21. I don't see a problem with Mauer agreeing to $5 million per year or so, one year at a time.
  22. What about his stance? How does he look? What is he actually doing? I think they are looking at more than box score stats.
  23. What's Buxton actually doing? Has he run the bases at all? They said they were asking him to change his approach.
  24. Chicken salad sandwiches are now being served. Please form the line to the right. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/6369/2407/1600/IMG_0749.jpg
