  1. Point being, and not trying to be argumentative, but someone within the Twins org identified Anibal Sanchez last spring, Twins signed him, but yet for some reason the Twins released him when someone better came along (Lance Lynn!) and Sanchez ended up in Atlanta. tl;dr it's not as simple as it seems once you make the guy an offer, bring him into camp, etc. Though I am not opposed to signing one of those guys.
  2. Ok, so let's say the Twins sign one of those guys to a minor league deal, and hope to get lucky. Then what?
  3. I think for LeMahieu, that is light.
  4. oh I see where you are going with that
  5. That is looking somewhat more likely, and I agree, ...shocked if it does happen.
  6. Machado update https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-sports-manny-machado-yankees-20190109-story.html Money quote. G Stanton was signed/extended 13/325 by the Marlins (yes, the Marlins) in 2014. Stanton was traded to the Yankees of course. But in response to Machado wanting Stanton-type money, a source says: "good luck with that."
  7. Sounds like Falvey and Levine want to move him to the pen. Per Strib, 12/11/18
  8. That's what I was thinking. A righty-on-righty specialist to face the Trout-Pujols portion of the LA lineup.
  9. Bonus points for hitting the upright AND the crossbar?
  10. Seriously, Trubisky doesn’t know to run up to the line and spike the ball? Unbelievable lack of awareness
  11. That good (or bad)
  12. Jeepers, tight game
  13. Foles has been tempting fate with some of his passes ...
  14. Good call to gamble on a reverse there— nothing else was happening
  15. Radio guys saying the defenses are dominating. Foles came into the game with bruised ribs iirc which can play tricks on QBs (often keeping them very conservative). Trubisky has been lucky, though apparently he’s hurt too. *shrugs shoulders*
  16. Holy lord, field goal games just eat at me.
  17. Yeah for normal fan bases, today is pretty much a "no win" situation
  18. Bears appear to be winning the field position game, but not so much the "points on the scoreboard" game. Still early.
  19. If this is your call for a game thread, I'm in I hope to catch most the game, second half for sure
  20. They showed a Seattle player (punter? not sure) taking some practice field goals and missing badly, but the player was using the soccer style wind up. I bet if he practiced the kicks straight-on style (like Mark Mosely, Rick Danmeier) the kicks would have sacrificed some distance but been much more accurate.
  21. I had half an eye on most of it. Seattle was punting a lot. Lost their kicker at half time; looked like a pulled hammy attempting a long FG at half but didn't hear exactly. Yep, Dallas goes on the road next week and probably gets overwhelmed at either destination.
  22. Great job Carroll-Dickson-or whoever. Worst on-side kick in NFL history, like, literally, the worst ever.lol Should have dragged Janikowski off his death bed to attempt it.
  23. I can't see anything wrong with these hires. And I see Toby Gardenhire mentioned in this thread. He checks all the boxes: played professionally (got to AAA), but also coached in college, coached in the minors, and I can guarantee you is more analytical than his old man.
