  1. Fan base:What happens if Taylor Rogers struggles? Front office: Well, ah, ... Fan base: oh, and who is our sixth starter, if one of them goes down? Front office: ... Not too late to make some transactions
  2. Looks like the answer to that, is, “put guys on base”
  3. Looks like they moved the start time back tomorrow. Heads up move. It would be rough to have teams playing three full games in a span of 24 hours.
  4. Put on your coaching hat, and tell us what you would do
  5. I don’t think this 2019 is destined for the postseason, but I’d like to watch and maybe be pleasantly surprised. By the way, the 1991 team started 2-9 ...
  6. Give a man a pitch, he eats for a day, Teach a man to pitch, he eats for the rest of his life Or something
  7. (actually it was over as of last July 27, but you get the idea) Edited: to add smiley because game thread
  8. Ladies and Gentleman, your home run champ for 2019!!
  9. The answer here, as I see it, is to stand in the batter’s box with your pants dropped down around your ankles

  11. He has raked — nothing has been hit over a fence, but otherwise he’s hitting during rallies and stealing bases and such. At least form what I’ve caught. I always ripped Molitor for playing him but I’d be glad if DanSan has an encore/ second rebirth before he rides off into retirement.
  12. The great thing about Buxton stealing second base is the head-first pop up slide. We may never see him overslide the bag again, because he can somehow go head first to the ground, into the base, and an instant later stand himself up while still bent at the waist holding the bag with his hands. Just watch. Hamilton couldn’t quite do that. I’ve tried to look at some clips of Henderson, and he didn’t do that (at least in the clips I saw). The streak is wonderful, but if it ends I won’t mind, because the speed and skill Buxton has stealing second base is second to none.
  13. No Bautista, no Donaldson, no Pillar, no problem! No pitching? Problem.
  14. Also, not to be a social scientist or conspiracy theorist, but when was the last time a president had a complicated last name? Looking at you, Buttigeig and Klobuchar.
  15. Because his name is pronounced Buddha Judge, and that is awesome? (although I've also heard the second part as more like, "jidge")
  16. I hear you. Loud and clear. However I just don't have a lot of confidence that Klobuchar is saying anything interesting or worth reporting on. The others I don't know about, partly for the reasons you raised, partly because I'm not paying much attention at the moment.
  17. It took two throws, but the first throw was already made. I didn’t disagree with sending him either, but in another situation earlier in the game it would have been a bad send. The play wasn’t really that close, as far as home plate plays go... I mean it was close, but not as close as it looked And yeah, who knew Cron was so slow. Well Baldelli does now, if he didn’t know before.
  18. Particularly since tonight’s game stands a good chance of rain postponement.
  19. Gibson is in a tough spot pitching between Perez and Odorizzi, neither who can go past 6 innings.
