  1. Agree, if this wasn’t the year to make a deadline deal, then there never, ever will be.
  2. Disagree. The bullpen is plenty rested, so no one “needs” to be sent down for a fresh arm. And Larnach should post some good numbers in AA before even being considered. That probably means next season, not this season.
  3. I’m mixed on Smeltzer getting another start. It wasn’t just the third time through the order. He was getting hit hard all night.
  4. Yeah I hope he comes out. The bullpen is rested just fine.
  5. We’ve said it before, but Dobnak showed some good stuff there as that inning wore on.
  6. ok well that swing and miss percentage is increasing rapidly now
  7. Eddie hit it a mile Cron hit that last ball... oh about 3/5ths of a mile (or however far away the center field warning track is)
  8. Congrats to Dobnak! ( on his debut, not the scoreless inning, which works too )
  9. I stand corrected. Garver has a handful of innings at first. Maybe there is something with Garver the team is trying to keep quiet. Who knows. I might play Garver at 1B in an emergency to get his bat in the lineup—assuming he is healthy and able to hit—but there’s no reason not to play Cron at first and Garver at DH.
  10. Or DH to replace Cruz. There's something of a learning curve at first, Cron is fine there, and Garver has never played infield. We need to find out what's going on with Astudillo or the front office will need to find a MLB-ready catcher, stat.
  11. Maybe Park could enlighten us. My first google search of "MLB ECU tendon" produced less-than-happy results To be continued I guess
  12. Umm, and an MiLB writer just posted this earlier in the day: https://www.milb.com/milb/news/ryan-orourke-makes-his-pitch-with-fight-like-a-girl/c-308481428
  13. The Twins are the better team. Maybe Cleveland draws a split this series but I feel there’s a better chance than not that Twins will draw away here the next few weeks. The Twins pitching does concern me, however. I actually expect Cleveland to keep emphasizing the small ball approach this series. They are surprisingly old school. Watch for Tito to spit tobacco, adjust his cup, and call for a lot of sac bunts, against a Twins team that scores in bunches. God I do not miss that “brand of baseball”
  14. The Domino’s Pizza “30 minutes or Less guarantee” was a kind of a sensation when they rolled it out, then a pizza driver killed someone and it was like top 10 o’clock news story for a couple days. I guess Domino’s survived ok.
  15. I’m just glad Rocco lobbied to bring in Romo at this point.
  16. When Clayton Kershaw developed biceps tendinitis early last season, the LA Times put together a similar article with a list of other players who had also had this. Kershaw was out for about — yep— 22 days (but 30 days between starts). https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-dodgers-dugout-kershaw-20180507-story.html?_amp=true
  17. So what’s this stuff I heard on Barreiro about the new snapper sweats too much and Cousins can’t grip the ball after the center has handled it? I’m sure it’s nothing and mostly in fun, but the excuses this team (really, all Minnesota (male) sports teams).. the excuses these teams use to hedge their future performance will never cease to amaze me. I’m so old, I remember when the Twins manager, front office and media were stating their concerns about all the scheduled off days this past April and the team not having a chance to get into a rhythm. Somehow, the players persevered.
  18. yeah.... something is probably bothering him somewhere, at this point in the season.
  19. Well, Perez was my “pick to click” for the last couple months. His last few starts weren’t horrible, until today. The team can decide if it’s time to move him to the bullpen once Pineda returns and all five are healthy, unless they want to skip his start next week and use Smeltzer in Texas. No, he’s not being DFA’d.
  20. No lead—or deficit— is ever safe with this Twins team.
  21. Poor guy wont even get to first base!
  22. So tired of the 5-4-3 triple plays. Gimme one of those 3-8-7-2-4-7-1-4-5 triple plays, whydontcha!
  23. Do you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in the Beta Quadrant?
