  1. I have the game on the radio in the background, but am thinking of switching over to the Bennie Hill soundtrack.
  2. Yes. Angels have run huge payrolls recently and it didn’t move the needle. So there’s more to it than payroll (ask the Mets). For anyone correlating high payrolls with the biggest markets.
  3. Payroll is a big part of the story, but not the whole story. We look at the Dodgers, but we can also look at the Angels too. When I saw the score 4-0, I had missed the fourth run and had no idea it was the ball Ohtani destroyed. Looking at the Dodger stadium dimensions and where the ball landed ;(or might have landed) I say there’s no way it only traveled 469 feet.
  4. I know the pitchers are better today, and Ohtani is among the best right now, but you got to get that leadoff double across. Then the runner gets to third with one out. Predictably two strikeouts. Painful to watch. Ok I’m done
  5. Jose Quintana? lol. I assumed he retired like 5 years ago. But good for him. Kind of goes to show how well the Twins pitching measures up to the rest of the league—it measured up pretty well (or at least it did-TBD)
  6. *ahem* or should be
  7. I have to admit, I have never met Punto or heard him talk about baseball, other than GET PAID GET MONEY (which might be enough to get him hired)
  8. Falvey is just picking names from the StarTribune comment section at this point 🙂
  9. Also the umpires got it right
  10. I saw that too, it was a great breakdown. I was hoping he would mention how it was just a couple inches from bouncing over the fence. Second best part of the play was that it goes in the books as a ground ball—but the ball never hit the ground at any point during the play, start to finish. Best part of the play was that all of the Brewers infielders (unlike the Dodgers baserunners) knew exactly what to do once the ball came in to the infield and did not panic.
  11. Snell back out for 7th - no opinion either way 🙂
  12. here’s how it reads on MLB GameDay: Double Play Dodgers challenged (force play), call on the field was upheld: Dodgers challenged (force play), call on the field was upheld: Max Muncy grounds into a double play, center fielder Sal Frelick to shortstop Joey Ortiz to catcher William Contreras. Teoscar Hernández out at home. Will Smith out at 3rd. 3 outs
  13. Gotta admit, I don’t get why Toronto is working Varland like a mule. And I don’t get why they are carrying five starters this series.
  14. Also, Yankees lost
  15. Heard on the radio that Boone might be (now past tense since the Yankees are out) Boone might have been the best manager remaining on the AL side. Not knowing enough obviously, but probably wouldn’t argue with that on its face.
  16. jmo but it probably is… *depending, of course **yes both are horrible ***do not do either of those things
  17. Wow! Didnt think it could happen! Must have been nice to pitch to Judge in the 9th 😁
  18. That guy needed it
  19. Great call by the commentator on the Baez HR- “and now two more” as the ball is leaving the bat 🙂
  20. Number #1 overall pick, finally having his best season…. Nope! Let’s turn it over to our struggling bullpen LOL
  21. I think all these new StatCast managers go to sleep at night mulling over how they can one-up the last guy in being dumb.
  22. Unless my memory is faulty (very probable) teams used to rally from behind in these five game series more often. I am going to go out on a limb and predict that 1 of the 4 teams facing elimination comes back to win their series.
  23. Gameday says: Intentional walk to Judge with one out, no one on base. Really? Good lord
  24. Lawrence on the last Jags drive reminded me of a Tony Romo drive, right down to the last play. (botched field goal hold in that playoff game)
  25. people on the internet throw around hyperboles, but that might be one of the stupidest losses in the NFL, ever.
