    That's most of it. How many players do the Twins have who the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets or Phillies would prefer over their own players? Are there any position players? I think it would be mostly pitching. I think the Central is still winnable, because those teams are also all flawed. Every win will matter, which is why a new manager might be necessary. Rocco isn't the worst MLB manager but he's also not the best.

    I don't think rearranging the hitters is going to help. If they want more offense, they'll need to trade pitching to get it. The only minor leaguer who looks like an upgrade on offense is Camargo over Vazquez. They need a bat at 1B.

    Mostly nothing for mostly nothing. The Twins made the trade worse by keeping Margot on the roster for the whole season instead of cutting bait when it was apparent that his athleticism had declined.

    A team of mostly the same players is playing mostly the same as they did last season. Ty France also looks mostly the same as he did last season. Christian Vazquez doesn't have a hit or a walk but somehow managed to get caught stealing.

    Louie Varland coughed up another run but Alcala and McCaughan did fine. Varland was lousy last fall and he's been lousy so far this season. 71.4% hard hit.

    Looking over the Twins statcast page compared to MLB Stat Twins MLB average Zone Swing% 65.7 66.3 Zone Contact% 83.3 81.1 Chase% 29.4 29.0 Chase Contact% 47.4 55.2 They're basically league average. Barrel% and Hard Hit% are better than average. Angle is league average 13%. The one problem they're having is not enough line drives.

    I think we will see Miranda and Julien in a platoon for the near future with Castro taking the other spot in the lineup and moving defensively between 2B and 3B.

    What a terrible photograph, I'm surprised it made it into the image archive.

    I thought the pitcher balked. It was a lot more of a balk than what was called on Pablo Lopez the other day. They called the play hoping the White Sox would make a mistake. Wallner had two strikes in the at-bat and got to start over in the next inning. In the next inning, Wallner was able to draw a walk which led to a run on the Bader HR.

    Someone else will be hurt. The top 26 players are never all healthy at the same time.

    Varland has not been impressive. The same mix of strikeouts and hard contact we saw last fall.

    The only reason they aren't using Chris Paddack like this is he has the service time needed to reject the assignment to AAA.

    Everyone seems upset that Buxton was pulled and Keirsey was put in the game. I've been hearing from people all offseason that Dashawn Keirsey would be star if they just gave him a chance. This was a chance.

    Noah Miller is easily obtainable. A few thousand dollars and the Dodgers will give him away.

    If the Twins want to keep him, they can use his option instead of DFA.

    He did get an over-slot bonus, more like a low 1st or high 2nd rounder. I agree that it is worth reminding people that any player who has a positive contribution with a major league team has beaten the odds.

    It looks like the last spot in the bullpen is designated for pitchers nobody wants until we see Tonkin or Stewart return. We may see Ynoa next if McCaughan pitches in this series.

    Danny DeAndrade should be in Double-A. Will Holland is expected to return this season. If there is a problem in the immediate near-term a trade is always a possibility (buy someone else's AAA shortstop for cash).

    Apparently, he's been puking sick.

    If they're down by 8 runs it doesn't matter who you put in. That's when teams use a position player to pitch. It would be better to give innings to someone who might have a future with the club. They're giving Dobnak $3M worth of appreciation this year. He knows his job. It was good to see Wallner get a double and a walk, the outfield assist was icing. Willi Castro is doing everything he can to help the team win.

    It certainly doesn't bode well for him that he can't beat out Mickey Gasper or Dashawn Keirsey for a spot on the roster. If Emmanuel Rodriguez isn't ahead of him for a call-up, he will be very soon. Luke Keaschall is also trying to get that spot in the big leagues. Stuart Fairchild is freely available to any team that will put him on a major league roster. Is Martin better than Fairchild?
