  1. See that? Berrios gets Biggio to field that one.
  2. Whoo Hoo! There's a quick hook and then there's something of a panic. I thought Berrios had earned a second pass through the order.
  3. Grrr. On gameday those have been balls. OTOH anything that close has to be a swing with 2 strikes on you.
  4. As long as Berrios is rolling like this they'll ride him. and on the flip side the Twins need something to drop in or it's going to be a very short afternoon (Jose has only throw 35 pitches.)
  5. At least Wallner squared one up there. That's something.
  6. Maybe they were hoping that Polanco couldn't field it but Varsho couldn't get it near him? Who knows.
  7. Not sure how happy I am that Sonny is afraid to throw his fastball in that situation. Let's see how that plays out this afternoon.
  8. Maybe a quick and quiet inning can jumpstart the offense.
  9. Gotta go to the quick hook in the playoffs. You gotta defend your leads harder, so 3-0 is like 1-0 during the season. I know it would haev been cool for Pablo to finally get Keirmeyer, but with two on you go to the pen.
  10. Need the offense to keep TOR running scared. The walk helps, but c'mon Kep.
  11. Apparently it isn't the same everywhere. CA, where Dr Nick just came from, does not have such a requirement: "Upon notification of the procedures for licensing in Minnesota that did not exist in his previous place of employment, immediate corrective actions were taken. He has since secured his unconditional license and is now in full compliance with state regulations." It's worth pointing out that the state board might have been a bit sleepy too and made a bunch of calls all at once, since trainers for the Twins, Wolves and two from the Vikings were all applying within that March/April timeframe.
  12. Miranda has already romped in AZ Fall and the Twins have a bunch of other guys who deserve the chance. I do agree that a trip to Driveline or some other mystical swing doctor would probably serve him well. He needs months to identify what led to the injury and build a foundation to overcome it by Valentine's Day. The organization isn't suited to that sort of work the way an individual coach is.
  13. The team is already rotating a lot of starters through the IL, some for real injuries (Buxton, Lewis, Kirilloff) but some for little things or short vacations (Taylor, Castro, Ryan) and I would expect Ober's AAA stint to fill the same role while leaving them some flexibility in case a real problem arises. Correa should be the only one shocked if he gets a short vacation before October too.
  14. He's not in a spot far removed from Larnach and Kirillof: injured, flashes of the big talent, little positive defensive value. Unless someone falls in love with one of them I expect they'll all be kept into spring training to see how rehab went and then trades will go down for 1-2 of them. My guess is MIranda and Larnach go and I have to learn to spell Kirilloff consistently, but if Colorado or someone comes knocking for any of them the Twins will listen closely.
  15. Castro sucks! Fire the pitching coach!
  16. It's still 80 degrees in Cleveland, so I wonder when Tito pulls the plug on this and runs out his bench to rest the starters?
  17. There is a rule and it says 10 runs, no restrictions. It was considered and this is the primary case for it: the situation where a team is coming off a tough series and rolling into a tougher division series with a tired pen. It was discussed and a team is allowed to give up after yielding a ten run gap.
  18. 25? 30? Screw 'em: if you give up that early you should get to own a record.
  19. Gallo always struck me as a really good softball guy. Good to see him reaping Cleveland's bitter harvest.
  20. CLE has to win one or two of these, and wasting a single relief inning on a 12-1 loser is a mistake. It takes some courage to throw in the towel on a game this early so I don't care who is out there right now..
  21. Bases loaded, perhaps time to let a pitcher hit? I'm out of my depth here...
  22. Position guy in the sixth? Does he even have enough bench to get thru four innings this way?
