  1. I never understood the Arcia in LF while Hutner takes RF for 1 year unless they are planning down the road for Arcia/Buxton/Hicks OF combo. I mentioned this earlier as well but if the 40 man roster wasn't contructed so poorly they could easily minimize the poor defense with platoons and resting players at the right times.
  2. It's called poor 40 man roster construction for the 3rd year in a row. So much so that it makes the actual production level of the team much lower than the talent it holds.
  3. The entire state of the teams defense is terrible. How Ryan can act so indigent that the defense will be fine this year is utterly baffling. How is this a person who so many trust so much when he not only can't see the obvious but fights against it.
  4. Plouffe has been making some nice plays in the field.
  5. The pitching staff shook out is so disappointing. Milone should be in the pen with Pelfrey & Meyer taking Boyers place & May in the 5 spot behind Gibson.
  6. Wow, this organization has been loyal to him to a fault and he wants to pull this crap. I couldn't be more annoyed. Trade him for a platoon CF with Schafer.
  7. Absolutely no need to worry about service time, Meyer will likely be retired before he hits free agency. I think he starts in the pen day one with May as the #5 and see what happens with the rest of the rotation. I'd love to see Burdi & Meyer throwing gas at the back of the bullpen.
  8. So your saying he may have learned to hold onto depth of a position he maybe trading from? I don't rec that hurting the team last year
  9. I didn't realize Bourjos wasn't a FA as much as he's been talked about.
  10. Maybe these free spending Twins offer the Rockies Arcia/Santana & a pitcher for Tulo & Cargo. Who says no, right? Lol
  11. Wasn't Levi left unprotected & not drafted.
  12. I'd like to see them sign Anderson on a 3 year & Bourjos on a 1-2 year. I'd move Milone/Duensing/Pelfrey to clear space & fill the bullpen with Burdi, Meyer, Tonkin.
  13. I'd still like them to sign Anderson to a Hughes like contract. Santana or Nolasco could easily be moved in the final years if their deals as long as their healthy.
  14. He certainly seemed to be almost back to his self in the 2nd half. He'll be a good hitter but will not live up to the contract as a 1B. It's not ideal but is far from crippling.
  15. I just don't like giving up the 2nd but that's also likely keeping the bidding/price tempered as well.
  16. Watch Ryan is the mystery Masterson 1 year offer & he signs both pitchers.
  17. Santana's tweeting Puckett quotes, must be a done deal. I'm sure it's a 4/65, don't love it, don't hate it.
  18. Great article! The Twins lack of payroll given their revenue combined with their roster building methods have completely crippled the team from success. Spending 20% of the payroll on the Corriea, Pelfrey & Duensing's of the world doesn't lead to success on the field.
  19. Sign a #2 level SP & make a Span/Revere esque trade. So basically trade Plouffe for a premium return & sign Anderson.
  20. If Headley doesn't go to SF you may get them to overpay with Crick & Susac. You have to take that If it's offered. Plouffe will start getting expensive quick after this season decreasing his value. Escobar can handle 3B unti Sano is ready.
  21. I agree with the sentiment here, sign a high quality #2. That's how you create depth, by pushing guys like Nolasco & Gibson down to 4/5 starters. This is why I like the idea of going after Anderson. I doubt the get Vogelsong for less than 2/15. If that means Pelfrey is destined for Swarzaks role I can live with it.
  22. I'm indifferent to the Torii signing, he's definitely a below average fielder but I'm not sure it's as bad as the numbers suggest. It's been stated many times by others as well. My issue is the 15-25 mill wasted on payroll on below replacement level players. Let the kids play!
  23. I don't think it'd be the worst idea to start Meyer in a relief role. That shoulder is worrisome. Anderson is the guy I'd go hard after & try to get on a 3 year from 25-30. LA wont just take Nolasco alone with Friedman at the helm without tossing a bone in with him like Escobar. I'd love to see a Hughes/Anderson/Gibson/May/Meyer with Berrios pushing for next in line.
  24. I haven't fallen off the Eddie Rosario bandwagon.
  25. Zimmerman's star has fallen a bit but hes a key cog/leader in that clubhouse & team that finally made the playoffs. Maybe you could get Werth for that but meh. While we're throwing out hypotheticals & contend next year... Escobar/Sano/Hicks/Rosario/Meyer/Nolasco (for offsetting salary) for Tulowitzki/Gonzalez/Chacin/De la Rosa
