  1. I dare to believe that you would be hard pressed to find a Twins fan who is unaware of the fact that the Twins are on Grienke's no trade list. It has been thoroughly documented
  2. I would be thrilled if the Twins got Grienke and Ray and moved Perez and Pineda to the bullpen. If they took on all the money the prospect cost might not be that bad.
  3. I think many of us need to put this trade in perspective. This is more about improving depth in the minor league system than it is about acquiring a shut down reliever. We got a fifth rd draft pick that has shown some intreging early returns for someone who we very well could have lost in Nov. That makes the trade worth it. On top of that we got a MLB 3 time world series champion reliever who can soak up innings down the stretch and who has invalubale expierience. Doesnt mean he wins the world series for us or even pushes the needle. See the trade for what it is On top of that we got PTBNL which is a total shot in the dark. All for someone who we would have lost for 25 grand in the rule 5 draft in Nov
  4. I am much more excited about the minor league pitcher than I am about Sergio
  5. I would love to see the twins add Giles then a second tier reliever maybe a rental in the good not great range and then get somebody like Robbie Ray from the Dbacks and bounce either Pineda or Perez to the pen
  6. And the Twins are only 2 games ahead of Cleveland now
  7. I would like Robbie Ray from the Dbacks and Giles from the jays. I would be thrilled if there could be a Ray Grienke combo trade plus Giles Yes I know the Twins are on his no trade list but still...
  8. According to gameday, they had 32 lob and gave up 4 unearned runs. Didnt get beat but beat themselves. Every yr every team has games like this but it's so frustrating when it happens, especially against one of the worst teams in the league
  9. I would want Holland. Or that Andrew Miller guy IF the Twins think they could unlock something with him
  10. I have been looking for this thread every day! So glad we have it.
  11. Smeltzer will make his start tonight. I hope he does well and enjoys/learns from it and we see him later. Tonight he gets sent down. Cruz gets activated. This wknd Garver gets activated and Arrez gets sent down. When Pinada (sp) comes off the IL Austidillo gets sent down
  12. Against Seattle, Anaheim, and Chicago the Twins outscored their opponents 93-34 over 10 games winning 9 of them. Thats some pretty serious offense even tho its not against the best teams. Maybe we should hang HR signs instead of K if this continues
  13. This week will be a good litmus test. They will be playing better teams in Mil and TPA than they have faced in awhile.
  14. I would rather have Kimbrel. I think he helps this team more and has less downside.
  15. How short of a leash does Addison Reed have?
  16. First of all Glen Perkins says hi. Second the Twins have options when it comes to pay. They can pay him over the league minimum to offset not calling him up if they want to. They really don't have to negotiate wages with him for what, 4 yrs? Time heals a lot of things. This seems like a lot of hand wringing and angst about nothing. Does it suck currently for Buxton? Yeah maybe but I would prefer him, as a fan, that he get recharged and reset and start fresh next year. I understand he could get hurt anytime, but I don't see what the point would be to call him up in a lost season when he may not be 100 percent and run the risk of a more serious injury. As a selfish fan, I'm not unhappy about the xtra yr of control. My guess, the xtra yr of control is eventual used as leverage in a contractual negotiation and everybody walks away happy.
  17. The Twins are a big loser in this missed opportunity to sign Darvish. With 3 teams rebuilding next year Darvish would have given the Twins the opportunity to go deep into the playoffs. The Twins could have taken a huge step to control their own destiny, instead they decided to lay up and hope for the best. Lynn, Cobb and especially Arrieta are not going to be worth anywhere near what they will get. The Twins only chance is to now trade for Archer and the only way to do that will decimate the farm system. Words can not describe the disappoint that the Twins front office has decided to let this opportunity pass them by.
  18. No Randy Bush? Pry the best PH/utility man the Twins had.
