  1. I think Vargas on the 1st and maybe Pinto for hitters, and Achter and Tonkin for relievers. If they call up Berrios, I hope and think they should b4 Sept 1, in case he is lights out in the bullpen , they can use him in a playoff situation if we get there. They have to leave some players in AAA , and dont rob to many from AA cuz they are in the playoffs.
  2. I like this idea, BUT, if neither Vargas or Arcia can handle the DH duties, I would prefer keeping Plouffe, untill we do find someone to DH other than Sano, when that happens then I would be more inclined to trade Plouffe.........with that said if we get someone willing to overpay just a little even, then I would trade Plouffe and take my chances with Arcia or Vargas coming thru.
  3. Hunter, that is the wrong way to show the young guys how to run out a ball.
  4. I think keep it at 162 games, have 6 home and 6 away DHeaders a yr and have a 27 man roster........I want records to still have a chance to be broken.
  5. Love this, perfectly said from a 45 plus yr Twins-o-holic.
  6. I have never been a Dean fan, as far as his ability to be a Major leaguer, what is he doing different that he is getting the results he is getting, no one talks about him as a possible Sept call up, I dont think he is a Major leaguer, but would be nice for him to get some love(sept callup) for a very good season, when it only looked like he was a AAA placeholder waiting to be waived.
  7. I have no problem with May being in the pen this yr, and maybe next yr too, if we dont find other quaility relievers.......he was mostly a 6 inning pitcher, and did it pretty well, but we had no or little quality to follow him coming out of the pen, and I think he was a much better bullpen option than Pelfrey, but i guess we wont know for sure since Pelfrey never relieved, but May has strikeout ability were Pelfrey not as much so...........but unless we find or develop a couple more starters by next yr, i prefer May in the starting rotation long term as i think he has the makings of a #3 starter.
  8. For a game 163, I would want Gibson, mostly a ground ball pitcher again HR hitters, on both teams and in case of Yankee Stadium HR haven.............secondly lefty Milone, he is very wily and i dont think gets rattled...........If we made the playoffs, Hughes, Milone, Gibson, and if we had to go with a 4th starter, Pelfrey now, but could change my mind if Duffey, keeps the good starts going and looks like he is not gunshy for the playoff games against a Blue Jay or Yankee team.
  9. I am high on Navarreto myself, he is young and I think has a chance to hit .250 or better in the future.
  10. Well if it is any consolation, those HR were not hanging pitches, Toronto is just a HR hitting team, bigtime.
  11. He had a one hitter going at that time.
  12. Can you imagine the howling if May was left in and Rodriguez hits HR, Perkins is our closer, he had a rough outing, it happens, get over it!! Id much rather have Molitor than what we previously had.........and the Twins are one of the few teams above where people thought their teams would be, i can only imagine if you were fans of those teams you wouldnt like any of the managers. And i will let Molitor take credit for the wins we were not suppose to have up to this point , if he is asked to take the blame for this loss.
  13. I am only on page 4 reading as i write this so someone maybe already corrected it, but Dozier is only $3 Mill next yr not 7.5.
  14. Wow, 85 wins was quite a prediction......I cant say i made a prediction, but I was hoping for a .500 season before the first game of the yr................but I am happy with the record and can see our flaws, so will ride the ship as long as it stays afloat, and hope for the best, and knowing that 2016 could be ONE of our years.........The front office has made alot of moves thru out the year, and happy that they are not staying pat when things go awry, and that they make changes.......altho not fast enough for some Twins fans. I am happy it is the all star break and I am not thinking of football season
  15. I appreciate the breakdown, I am a little surprised that Slegers is so low, I would have him higher, as well as Bard, but each of us has our own ideas, but I like lists like this to see what is out there and other peoples thoughts, Thanks.
  16. I agree that scouting is most important, and would be the separator, all things being equal, but if X team can sign 8 players for whatever they want, and team Y only signs one because they stay inside the limit, then team X is going to hit the lottery more often................and one could argue that scouting will not always be the separator either, unlike the draft, because if you really like certain players, they could all sign elsewhere...................I mean all the Domican players grew up hearing about the Yankees, so would you rather sign with the big name Yankees or Dodgers or the little heard about Twins??
  17. Same as the amatuer draft that we have now, they dont have control either.
  18. There is 25 have Mauer and Hunter on same DH line
  19. May was a 4th round pick, not quite a top draft pick, altho was once a top prospect in the Phillies organization.
  20. Well unless any said trades of Nolasco, Pelfrey, Duensing, return Greinke , Trout, or the like LOL
  21. Ideal for me after we make trades and or DFA players and some may stay on DL SP Hughes SP Gibson SP May SP Santana SP Berrios RP Perkins RP Pressly RP Fien RP Graham RP Meyer RP Rogers RP Achter C Suzuki C Herrmann 1st Sano 2nd Dozier 3rd Plouffe SS Polanco LF Rosario CF Buxton RF Hicks DH Hunter/Mauer UTL Escobar UTL Santana
  22. If you reread what he wrote, he means by "stretched out", more time between starts for rest. Not the 'traditional' stretched out like you do on a rehab.
  23. I kind of agree with you , i am not a fan of Castro either, but I think most non biased people would trade Dozier for Castro, IMO.................. but if i had the chance, i would love to see Russell at SS and Polanco at 2nd.
  24. So you think Dozier is worth a former top 5 prospect??? Dang, if that is or were true , i would do it.........would you give up Sano for for Starlin Castro??
