  1. Here's Shelty's reply to Gleeman's question..."It was like, oh hell, I think..." about sums it up.
  2. Well, that's a head scratcher. Is Caratini headed to the IL? Probably not, but a TD poster pointed out yesterday that he's been slumping bad since he hurt his knee in Cleveland.
  3. The vibes are so down today in Twins Territory, I think the squad just might up and win this series.
  4. I'm gonna say it again, just because: If guys on this team had simply done their job, if Joe Ryan doesn't waste three starts by trying to pitch through an obvious injury, if if if...we'd have 3-4 more wins and we're at .500 or above and Zoll/Pohlad's gamble doesn't look like a bad bet at the moment. Alas, that didn't happen. Which...is a bummer.
  5. Keeping Jenkins down in the minors has gotta be related to the impending lockout, right?
  6. True. Though I suppose we can gain ground on one of the potential WC teams (Detroit) during that stretch.
  7. I'm a fool, so keeping hope alive. This is probably hyperbole, but imo Shelty needs to manage these games like they're win or go home. Same with the players, obviously. Realistically, anything less than a series win against ATL and we're cooked heading into the West Coast road trip. Keep your head above water until the long run of divisional games at the end of the month.
  8. Another week of this and Shelton's liable to go Lee Elia on the bit. "The name of the game is hit the ball, catch the ball..." He barely contained his rage yesterday lmao.
  9. Has there been any follow-up reporting from the Twins beat writers, i.e. Dan Hayes and Bobby Nightengale, Jr., on this rumor? Dan said a few months back that the two sides weren't close to a deal.
  10. The playoffs might be out of reach before Joe gets back. Guessing he's still a couple weeks away, probably needs a rehab start, etc.
  11. IMO - it was worth it to go for it, relatively speaking, at the deadline. The players have been given the chance that I think they earned over the first 2/3rds of the season. Unfortunately, the players also haven’t stepped up over the past few weeks since being given new life after Kody’s walk off, The vibe would be a whole lot different right now with, say, 4-5 more wins, which was certainly within reach. 2 walk off losses in Seattle, bad showing in KC, the Milwaukee series, today’s fiasco, etc.
  12. After Kody’s ultimate grand slam, Shelty apparently joked to the beat writers, “That’ll f*^% up your game stories.” Well, Skip…definitely some re-writing going on this afternoon.
  13. Like the man says, the hour is getting late.
  14. I blinked and missed Shelty’s 69-second postgame presser. ☠️💀
  15. Also, when was the last time Buck grounded into a double play? At least a year? Wasn’t even that close either…definitely concerning.
  16. I’m tired, boss. Reminds me of the gut punch walk off loss last year to the Dodgers, just a few weeks later. So, is Buxton going to set the MLB record for fewest RBIs with 25+ homers? IIRC Wallner set the record for fewest RBI w/20+ homers. Tough to watch him come up short time and time again in big situations this year. Curious how the postgame vibes are in the locker room? Yikes… That at-bat by Culpepper though! Wow. Put Martin on the IL. Jenkins time.
  17. Shelty - this is the ghost of Billy Martin speaking: This is your last best chance to flip over the postgame buffet.
  18. What’s Buck’s latest RISP w/2 outs average? 0-2 today. Surely can count on one hand the number of times he’s come through in that situation this season. A damn shame.
  19. Well, I said I’d still be here even when/if the wheels fall off….
  20. Is Morneau really excusing Royce not sliding by pointing out his knee injuries? C’mon, man!
  21. Dean Kremer has a chance to save the season for the second time in a week!
