The game could've gone a completely different direction had the Tigers capitalized on some RISP opportunities. Was tied 1-1 in the fifth and 14-1 by the end of the 6th.
Props to Prielipp for a really solid outing. Was a relief to see Morris didn't let his opener inning get away from him, too.
A sweep will make things interesting heading into the weekend rematch with the White Sox.
It's probably as simple as Shelton wants to put out the best possible lineup until he deems the playoffs as beyond realistic (now, whether some of the guys in the lineup are the best bats at this time is up for debate). But when's the last time we've had the same exact batting order for 3 straight games? I'm not sure that's happened at all this season.

Gotcha, my bad. I swear Morneau said during his first at-bat last night that Royce was 5 for his last 56. Anyway, dude is struggling hard. I bet he was bummed he wasn't credited with a hit last night, but it was the correct call.
I agree. Will probably be more than one team above .500. Baltimore is getting hot - Cowser's catch to rob a walkoff homer last night was one of the best catches you'll ever see. The Toronto-Cleveland series will be one to watch for sure.
We definitely need a sustained streak to fully re-enter the WC conversation.
Well well well. So refreshing to coast to a win like that and not let up. Been…a couple months! We’ll take it.
Tomorrow’s game on September 1 is hereby declared meaningful! 🙌🏼 or at least not meaningless.
This team lost so many games in August (and post all-star break) by not doing the little things right in all phases. That’s my bigger “what if?” over this stretch. Probably wouldn’t have mattered if Jenkins had been called up imo. Alas, we’ll never know.
Also seems the Twins were determined to have his debut at home (for PR), and we had a 9-game road trip to start the month.
