  1. Hey he is hitting .667 over his last game. ~
  2. I was perplexed at that early hook as well. He had just giving up an infield single and gets the hook at 77 pitches with two outs? If he is in the future plans he needs to learn how to get out of those situations and the Twins needed to show confidence they feel he can instead of yanking him and basically telling him you don't trust him. I know his past performances he has not earned the trust but what a better time to let him try to earn it in a game that means nothing to the Twins.
  3. After those four games we better demote him to get things figured out.
  4. I don't know why but I just get the feeling Meyer had a bad attitude and the Twins got rid of him, like Garza, to just get him out of here. No proof but just the quietness of his injury and the way he was handled I just get that feeling there was some issues going on behind the scenes.
  5. Of topic, but did they move T. Jay to the Pen for good or only to limit his innings this year?
  6. I am just not big on Walker. His power is great but his SO rate will just go up in the the big leagues and we don't need another prospect to come up to SO. I only project Walker as a NL pitch hitter or part time player. Palka maybe a Sept call up to give him a taste before a better chance next year but I would rather wait to give him his shot next year. But I will say that Palka trade is looking like a steal so far.
  7. The problem is, does everyone want to play by the same rules if they were legal, By not banning them you assume a good percentage of players will take them. Which in turn almost forces those that don't want to put these drugs in their body to take them as well or lose their job. Then I sure don't want my son looking up to the players that are not natural and feeling the only way he can achieve his goal of playing professionally is to take steroids or other drugs. And at what age would kids start emulating to achieve?
  8. Yeah but by looks of it the rain should be gone close to game time. I think we may have a delay but the game will be played.
  9. oh yeah duh, didnt even think this is the last game of the set. Just in general hope they keep him on schedule and don't postpone his start 5 days.
  10. Looking more and more like its going to be a rain out. Hope they start him tomorrow.
  11. I think its the vikings that have the sex boat.
  12. Well I know what I will be doing Wednesday night.
  13. Rough start for Park, 3AB, 9 strikes, 3 SO's
  14. Never start an article with "Twins Cut Miguel Sano" again. Nearly gave me a heart attack.
  15. So they DFA'd Fuld in April and then Trade Milone to get him back. Thanks Oakland we will take a guy like Milone for a 4th OF you gave up and we picked up.
  16. I agree I would put Burdi over Thorpe just based on possible arrival time to help the MLB team. Burdi could be a quick riser with his two quality pitches and into the Twins Bullpen before we know it.
  17. http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/45757/the-incredible-journey-of-chris-colabello
  18. Ok so Houston took Correa the #8 prospect in basball and signed him for 4.8 million the Twins took Buxton and spent 6 million. Allowing houston to overspend on future picks over slot and get better pick at those spots. And look up the stats.. Buxton and Correa are close and by houston taking Correa and signing him under slot they got better players later. Would I trade those picks.. Hell no!!!! But houston has been smart and how they played Boras and Appel by skipping him as #1 two years ago and then getting him with less leverage after going back for to school was great.
  19. I love how everyone only talks about the offensive production from C to to 1b and and blah blah blah.. What about the Defensive end of this. Joe is our best D catcher, and one of the best in the game, and at 1b our D would decline with him there, that is why you wait. Joe has allowed about the same amount of SB as Doumit in around double the games. Teams just don't run against Joe. They also have the same amount of passed balls in those games and tell me if you want to throw an offspeed pitch that may bounce in a critial situation who do you want behind the plate blocking it? Then you add his O at that position which should allow the team to fill other postions that are much easier to find O he is invaluable there. The only issue the Twins dont take advantage of having a top O Catcher by having even average O players at the other postions.
  20. I have a RC of Kevin West not sure what happened but saw him play against my hometown Northern indy league Sioux Falls Canaries (pheasants at that time) about 3-4 years ago. He was playing for Winnipeg I believe.
  21. Anyone know what Wimmers injury is? Is it his elbow again? he is listed as disabled.
  22. I always hate to judge someone or a group on a value that is an expected value not a true value. xFIP is an expected performance valuation and dependant to much on fly ball rates and the expected HR rate and doent take into factor GB rate pitchers for examle. I think xFIP has its uses to evaluate potential future performance with the league avg but to me is not a stat to value past performance that is known.
  23. Here is the rest: Minnesota Twins | Preseason rank: 2 The Twins have benefited from big jumps by several of their top prospects, balancing out the promotions of their No. 3, 4, and 5 prospects to the majors this year. http://a.espncdn.com/i/teamlogos/mlb/med/trans/min.gifByron Buxton has fully justified my ranking of him as the top prospect in last year's draft, tearing up the low Class A Midwest League at Cedar Rapids before earning a promotion a week ago to high-A Fort Myers. His combination of electric speed and plate discipline has prompted some unfair comparisons to Mike Trout -- at Buxton's age, Trout was about to start the season in Double-A, and reached the majors before he turned 20 -- but Buxton clearly has superstar potential and is one of the top two prospects in the game. Buxton passed Miguel Sano as Minnesota's top prospect, but Sano also has had a huge year -- he was recently promoted to Double-A New Britain -- and could reach the majors by early 2014, giving the Twins the kind of middle-of-the-order power bat they've lacked for several years. Max Kepler is finally healthy again and off to a solid start in Cedar Rapids; Eddie Rosario crushed high-A and joined Sano in Double-A in June. Alex Meyer, acquired in the Denard Span trade, had a strong two months before hitting the DL with a shoulder issue; he's about to start his rehab, but before the injury he was missing bats and getting ground balls and continuing to show that he can succeed in a rotation. And the Twins added the top prep arm in this year's draft in right-hander Kohl Stewart, a Texas A&M football commit who has a plus fastball and slider with a raw delivery; he will benefit from work in a pro development system. With no major prospect taking a serious step back -- Meyer's 2013 might be the worst, because of the injury -- the Twins are in even better shape today than they were in February.
