  1. The pitchers are intriguing for sure, so why not? Lowe is definitely better than Clemens, but I wouldn't want to sign him for just 1 year. A multi year deal to solidify 1st base for a while. The reason is, outside of the bullpen, I dont want to see any 1 year deals. If we're signing someone, make it count for this coming season and the future. I'd rather see someone already in the system play this year over any scrap heap signing.
  2. I may be in the minority here, but im all for this. He's never been given a real opportunity and last year he hit 19 home runs in about a half season worth of at bats. His defense is good enough and if he plays every day, he could reasonably improve there, as well. 2026 is a season I'm excited to finally see all this young talent waiting in the minors. See what we have. Shore up the bullpen. Get a few of these young guys to show they belong. We have talented starting pitchers. If a few things go right, this team is able to compete. It wouldn't be the first time a team has done this and won. Detroit did it recently.
  3. I would add Keachall and Martin to the list. Luke had a great debut and it seems to be a trend now for young players in a Twins uniform to do well and then completely disappear. As for Martin, his production seems completely sustainable to me, but he hadn't shown the ability to play like that in the majors until this year when the results of the game no longer mattered. Im hoping both of these players can continue on recent success. I would love to see Martin continue with the high OBP, even if he doesn't develop the power, he'll still be a valuable player. For the 4 players mentioned, if Buxton stays healthy, he should continue to produce. Ryan is still young and I think he gets tired toward the end of the season. Hopefully pitching a full work load for a couple seasons will give him more stamina to finish out the season strong. If Clemens can continue to play at a roughly league average level, he'll probably stick around. If his production drops, I'd imagine he'll have a short leash. Woods Richardson seems to be the same every year. Hoping he can continue to pitch like around that 4 era or better.
  4. If those are the options, I'd rather roll with what we have until Culpepper is ready. Lee is still young. Unless you can sign a GG shortstop, just stick with Lee.
  5. Im a No for Hoskins. I see absolutely no reason to pay for someone that has similar stats to Clemens. Maybe on May. He missed all of 2024 and came back rusty this past season. He's still in his 20s. If we end up trading a starter, he might be worth a look. 🤷‍♂️ high risk high reward signing. I'd prefer to bring in Arraez for a similar price range to play 1st. Need guys to get on base.
  6. If im making the decision, I bring back Luis Arraez to play 1st. The team needs guys who can get on base and he is one of the best in the league at it. He can fit nicely in that leadoff spot and allow Buck to move down in the order where his power can be better utilized. My everyday lineup has 1. Areaez 2. Keaschall 3. Buxton A couple on base guys. A high energy guy and a power guy. But back to reality. I'd imagine it'll be another 1 year $1-2 million signing or converting someone will Wallner or Larnach to 1st.
  7. Another lefty option, my pick is Tielbar, and someone to be the closer as FA signings. The rest of the bullpen, I feel, can be filled decently from within and see who works out. There are so many internal options, but nobody to close out games. Funderburk showed something at the end of the season, but im not ready to trust him as the only LH option. Obviously some signings with Spring Training invites need to happen, as well. Depending on availability, might be able to find a decent arm in the Rule 5 draft, too. So many options.
  8. In the scenario that a trade with the Giants happens, im looking for Bryce Eldridge and Landen Roupp to start. Fills Ryan's spot in the rotation and a possible starter at 1st base.
  9. My opinion is if you keep any of these players, then you need to add to the roster to compete this year. If youre not trying to add to the roster to compete this year, then trade them all and bring back a haul of youth to fill out the roster with. Im anxious to see what happens either way. Its a very exciting time in Twins Territory!
  10. At this point I'd rather see Perada as the backup unless we are somehow getting our new catcher for the next 5+ years. If the front office feels like dumpster diving, my preference would be a younger defensive catcher.
  11. The team was filled with underperformance everywhere. His "down" year was still 2nd best on the team and 14% above league average. If this is his bad season, sign me up. Plug him in at DH and see how it goes. He had a higher home run rate than Ronald Acuna Jr. The Twins team is full of question marks and Matt Wallner is getting way too much attention. Im more excited to see what a new coaching staff may be able to unlock in him!
  12. I just dont see it working out too well unless Wallner buys into it. And even then...I still dont see it. With all the "ready" outfielders in AAA, I'd prefer to see Wallner DH every day or atleast most days. Be an emergency outfielder. I worry that Trading him before giving him an opportunity to be the DH will end similarly to a certain former Twins player that is thriving as an Athletic DH.
  13. Easy DFA imo. As has been said, types like him can be found at any given time. Minor league contract at most, which I'd welcome.
  14. Not sure if we can convince them, but I'd love to see Torii Hunter come in and manage. Nelson Cruz come in as hitting coach. Fit in Toby Gardenhire somewhere. See if Mike Redmond wants to be a coach. Definitely brings energy to the clubhouse. Need a great pitching coach to be able to work with these young guys and get the most out of them. A lot is riding on them succeeding at the Major League level.
