  1. 9 Remaining Round 1 Prospects Seth's Rank-MLB.com Rank: 14-15 Zack Littell 15-25 Jacob Pearson 16-19 Mitch Garver 18-21 John Curtiss NR-14 Travis Blankenhorn NR-20 Andrew Bechtold NR-NR Aaron Whitefield NR-NR Lachlan Wells NR-NR Charlie Barnes
  2. So is this the Minnesota Twins 2016 Rule 5 Draft Strategy or the Cleveland Browns Every Single Year Strategy?
  3. Per Draft Rules, I believe this still leaves Ben Noble with the ability to make another pick today.... To be honest though, I was really hoping that this somehow turned into a 3 way trade as a straight swap has a lot less intrigue. Could have at least had "and a prospect to be determined later" caveat. Finally, I must inform you that Kevin Lawless is giving Hosken Bombo Disco the win in this trade. He tells me "Ben Noble obviously should have held out for more in the trade negotiations."
  4. I shoulda included a sarcastic as that was mostly a joke and actually aimed at AZ more than you. Remaining Prospects for round 1 Seth top 20 rank followed by MLB.com top 30 rank (If ranked). NR if not ranked. 14-15 Zack Littell 15-25 Jacob Pearson 16-19 Mitch Garver 18-21 John Curtiss NR-14 Travis Blankenhorn NR-20 Andrew Bechtold NR-26 Zack Granite NR-30 David Banuelos NR-NR Aaron Whitefield NR-NR Gabriel Moya NR-NR Lachlan Wells NR-NR Charlie Barnes
  5. Since your pick was not officially approved before other picks came in, Im going to Minnesota Vikings draft circa 2003 and say your pick was actually number 26 in case you care And yours was 27 because it matters...
  6. Lol, Yes I did... Guess I filled it quick when I sent 20+ PM's in 2 days.
  7. And today your taking Garver and writing even less?
  8. I am a consultant and helping promote but I hold no real power here.... We (and by we I mean Carole) set things up this way to promote interest, fairness, and also to really push getting at least all the top prospects adopted. Moran will be officially yours I'm sure next Monday as long as you post before Ben Noble.
  9. With the 24th pick in the 2018 AAP draft Goulik selects Luis Arraez. 2B, Fort Myers Miracle
  10. Only 17 first round prospects left!! Hurry before they are gone!!
  11. For the first round we were going off a list of the top 40 and round two was going to be the rest of the prospects (those maintaining prospect eligibility which rules out many AAA players) Jovani Moran is a second rounder...
  12. Nice write up and links. Seths article was especially interesting. I must have missed it when he put it out. ( or forgot it... I'm getting older. This is a possibility too)
  13. i will get my pages started tomorrow. I hate using my IPad to do all that and I didn't venture out to my work computer today...
  14. With Lucky 13 pick, Goulik takes Fernando Romero
  15. Goulik: I'm back with Kevin Lawless to wrap up the first round, 11 picks in and only 28 prospects left. What do you think we will see today? Kevin: Day 1 isn't over Goulik... I'm still hoping for a few more picks before 9 am. Then I'm seeing some top Starting Pitching to quickly fall off the board. Goulik: good point, I almost broke the 9 am rule and tried to put in my second pick which woulda been deleted. Which pitchers are you looking at? Kevin: I'm sure Carole is as ruthless that way as she sounds. Im looking at Gonsalves, Romero, and Jorge. There's a lot of young talent there with those three starters. With Slegers you have 4 starters right on the cusp of MLB. Along with Garver, Granite and Curtiss, there are lots of prospects I expect to see on an MLB roster at some point this year. Goulik: Well, let's see who's first to grab their second prospect at 9... Kevin: here's my best left available: 2 Gonsalves 4 Romero 7 Graterol 10 Javier 11 Diaz 14 Littell 15 Pearson 16 Garver 18 Curtiss 20 Jorge Goulik: there's a couple in there I could pick. I'll be back at 9...
  16. Kevin Lawless tells me the top 10 he still has as available are: 2 Stephen Gonsalves 4 Fernando Romero 5 Alex Kirilloff 7 Brusdar Graterol 9 Blayne Enlow 10 Wander Javier 11 Lewin Diaz 14 Zack Littell 15 Jacob Pearson 16 Mitch Garver
  17. Up to now at least, he has been an effective starter with 26+ innings for CR last year in four starts. If he can develop a third pitch, he might be able to stick but right now he is a fastball - change up guy. Without that third pitch, he will end up a bull pen guy for sure. He's predicted to be in Fort Myers this year according to the TD Prospect Handbook.
  18. Goulik: Im sitting here with Kevin Lawless discussing his predraft rankings and how this draft is going so far. Kevin, Can I call you KLaw... Kevin: Yes, Goulik: Thank you, KLaw, how do you think the draft is going so far Kevin: Its going well but a little slower than I hoped. I really would like teams to be put on a clock or something for this draft... Goulik: Well actually these are not teams drafting, these are all TD members rooting for the same team. Kevin: Regardless, I am still going to ask commissioner Carole to institute a clock. Goulik: So what do you like so far and what do you hate. Kevin: Well, I do like the Gordon, Baddoo, Rooker picks but it puzzles me that many of my top ranked prospects are yet to be scooped up. Goulik: So, KLaw, who do you see going next? Which names surprise you that are still on the board and why? Kevin: Well the obvious ones are Royce Lewis and Stephen Gonsalves. Those are my top two prospects. If Teams Goulik: TD Members Kevin: If Drafters were going to drop down I would think they would get the easy mark of Mitch Garver... Heck, he's going to be with the MLB club to start the year. He's a gimmee for those looking to draft a sure bet to make it. For Goodness sake, Slegers over Garver? Goulik: Well its time for a break KLaw, I hope you will be sticking around to watch the draft all day? Kevin: Wouldn't miss it! Goulik: Ok, We will try to catch up with you later!!
  19. I agree! He could be a sneaky one because of the military obligation. I believe he would have gone much higher in the draft if not for the service issue and when he is able to focus full time on baseball, Im predicting he catches a lot of eyes quickly.
  20. 4 picks are in!! Get in the draft quick before your favorite prospects are gone!!
  21. I Really hope my other pick drops to round Two...
  22. With the 4th pick in the 2018 TD AAP draft, Goulik selects: LaMonte Wade And thank you for this format. I love it so far...
  23. I dream of Buxton turning into Ricky Henderson... He's got the speed but he hasn't learned yet to take FULL advantage of it after a single... Dude should have a lot of SB's in his future. So excited to have him on our team.
  24. I actually spent a week in Santiago and have a special place in my heart for the place! (Spent a summer in Venezuela also pre-Chavez/political unrest) Thanks for this great first post and I look forward to hearing more from you in the future! Are you making plans to go see the DSL stadiums? From my understanding, most if not all of them are on the Southern side and a bit of a drive for you...
