  1. First save of the year? Yikes. Even when they win, it doesn't look easy. If Correa and Wallner are out for a long period of time, I think that everyone in this organization should take that as a sign that it's time to start the rebuild in earnest. Let's see Keachall, Lee, and Kiersey in every game. Get the paperwork in order and prepare to trade Lopez, Bux and France at the deadline and take what we can get for Correa and Larnach. Starting in July let's see Emmanuel Rodriguez in the OF along with Walker Jenkins for the rest of the year. Denying the inevitable doesn't help anyone. The Twins are only cheating themselves and their fans by pretending they're going to compete with this lineup. I don't mind the Twins losing, but I am aghast at the product and strategy they are rolling out there every night here in 2025. Go ahead and lose, but let's lose while our prospects get experience, at least.
  2. No. I refuse to blame a pitcher for a loss when the bats scored 1 run - yet again. Twins are 27th in baseball at 3.2 runs per game. It's awful. No life, no fire, no hope. No chance. And no fun.
  3. They've been impossible to watch since August of last year. I believe only the White Sox have a worse record in all of baseball since that time. If we're going to have to watch a 100-loss team, let's see some rookies and new faces while we're at it. Don't force us to watch a bunch of 30+ year-old bums with huge contracts struggling to score 2 runs per game. It's absolutely unwatchable.
  4. This team is so awful, this one's already over and we all know it, the Royals know it, and the Twins definitely know it. I'd be shocked if they didn't lose 100 games. Gonna be rough.
  5. Pitching has been fine for the most part. The problems are - same old story - hitting. While it's great to see the win, the Twins offense is still sputtering and difficult to watch.
  6. Hard to blame pitching or Rocco for what's happening. Rocco can't go out and sign Juan Soto. Rocco can't go out and sign Pete Alonso. The Twins are in a familiar place: can't score runs. It's not Rocco's fault. It's because they have bad players.
  7. Think back to when the Twins were up by 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th. First two runners reach, 1st and 2nd with nobody out. Correa grounds out to short, Buxton pops up to center, Larnach strikes out. Did Correa try to move the runners over by putting the ball on the right side of the infield? No. Did Buxton? No. Did Larnach at least make contact? No. This team is a bunch of dead fish, listless and lifeless, just like their manager - who never, ever, bothers to go for the jugular. Rocco's always trying to have his team do as little as they can today so that they're ready for tomorrow, sacrificing dozens of games per year in the process.
  8. Rocco took out Duran and put in Jax. Jax threw 2 pitches and the game was tied. His third pitch went for a double.
  9. I'd say "unbelievable" but this is very, very believable.
  10. Every Twin has a hit except for our "scrappy" career minor-leaguer who wouldn't make the roster on any other team in the bigs. He's a solid AAA guy but he shouldn't be here right now and it's pretty obvious the Twins need a change. When's Royce back?
  11. Rocco: "Early lead? Let's see if we can put our worst pitchers in the game and see if we can lose this one" Twins: "OK" Alvarez coming up....would anyone be shocked if he goes yard for a 3-run bomb here?
  12. I don't want to hear any criticizing of the pitching until our offense starts scoring some runs. Worst team in baseball so far. Is it early? Yes. But we can't deny what we see just because it's early. We'd all agree that we'd much rather have the Twins be the best team in baseball after 4 games, so let's not try and talk our way into thinking it's no big deal. This team has been horrendous since August of 2024, we're looking at 9 months now since we've seen any positive signs from this team.
  13. Also didn't renew. What's the point if the team isn't enjoyable to watch.
  14. Brutal start after a brutal 2024 finish. Pohlad selling the team, buyers pull out. Throw in the Twins.TV fiasco and this has been an absolute train wreck.
  15. Agreed. I'm always confused when people blame pitchers in a 5-1 loss. Blame the pitcher if you lose 10-6. Otherwise, the blame goes on the guys swinging the lumber.
  16. Gasper popping up on the first pitch with a man on 3rd and one out is on-brand. Why in the heck are the Twins DH'ing a 29 year-old rookie who never had a major league hit? It's not like we're late in the season and giving the guy a cup of coffee, this is OPENING WEEKEND! The offense has been so, so, so disappointing and abysmal to watch, it's been a year now of being forced to watch the unwatchable. If the Twins are going to be relying on Harrison Bader and Willie Castro for their offense, we're in for a long season. Buxton's looking like his prime is firmly behind him. Overall a shameful effort on opening weekend.
  17. STL outfield defense is killing us so far this series.
  18. Wait, the Twins are DH'ing a guy who's never got a major league HIT? The DH?
  19. Great job moving the guy up, France.
  20. Look at these Cards, putting the ball in play with men on base....good thing happen. That "close-your-eyes-and-swing" mentality that the Twins got lucky with in 2019 is still haunting them 6 years later. The team has been so hard to watch ever since.
