  1. Solid single up the middle by Mauer, 4-0. What is all this crazy "hitting with runners in scoring position"???
  2. Really nice baserunning by Florimon there- he was running hard to second and made up his mind fast when the ball trickled off the infielder. Made it to third without a throw. Dozier...oops. It looked like he was taking a step toward second and didn't get back in time.
  3. For Pete's sake, Trevor, swing the darn bat. Everyone else hit the ball hard.
  4. It was fun to watch that stolen base attempt- they sent Bourn on 3-2, and Gibson threw strike three and Mauer threw strike four. Bourn was so out he stopped at least 10 feet from the bag and they had to run him down. Morneau just crushed a line drive there- no elevation, just a laser.
  5. OK, Plouffe...nobody on base...no pressure...swing the bat. OK, trying to bunt the first pitch, not a great plan.
  6. OK, there isn't a blonde to the left of home plate. There are two blondes...they look very similar...almost like TWINS edit: oh, and I'm glad we finally got out of that inning
  7. Only in real life, not in major league baseball.
  8. OK, we're gonna need one more run to win this game.
  9. Note to Plouffe: swing the effing bat. Holy crap. Someone's going down for Willingham. I'm about ready to vote for Plouffe.
  10. What's going on in Milwaukee?
  11. So the family and I are going to Friday night's game in Chicago and I just found out that Liam Hendricks will be pitching. I was a little disappointed to hear that until I started thinking about who I would prefer. Go Liam!
  12. I know this one!!!! Even Lower!
  13. Sam's on tonight, so one run wins this. Right? ... Right?
  14. He's currently on the 60-day DL, so he's not counted on the 40-man roster. But he did pitch 11 innings for the Twins this year, so his season did actually start. I forgot that- good call.
  15. I don't think you can call it "season-ending surgery" unless the season started at some point.
  16. I guess I don't understand why this is wrong. It was staged, sure, but it didn't mislead anyone in any kind of important way. Worst case, it scared a couple of guys away from making a spectacle of themselves at a baseball game. That might be a good thing. If this is wrong, then everyone involved with The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Survivor, and most other reality shows has a lot of explaining to do. This is just a silly gag, those other shows are massive frauds.
  17. ...and because other teams have done it that way as well.
  18. I had the TV feed. You can imagine Bert's feeling about the pitch count. Well, you don't have to imagine it because it comes up about 4x a week.
  19. This is a lot more fun than most of the post-game/post-trade deadline discussions we've had. In this case, is the glass 8/9 full or 1/9 empty? Gardy and Anderson were probably in shock just seeing a pitcher get into the ninth inning (or past the sixth)- I'm glad no one had a serious medical emergency.
  20. Congratulations to Andrew Albers! Enjoy your Gatorade bath while you are interviewed!
  21. I would have let him pitch for two more outs or until they scored a run.
  22. Ever seen any Turkish prison movies, Jimmy?
  23. Yeah, and once you've taken full advantage, move the fence.
  24. If a run scores in the ninth, it is on you. No ban will be too long.
