    And darkness descended across the ballpark. Not a sound or a soul in sight. And lo, the 4 horsemen of the baseball apocalypse appeared. They were named Jim and Joe Pohlad, Derek Falvey, and Rocco Baldelli. And the baseball faithful were very afraid.

    Why in the name of Abner Doubleday do we need to see more of Julien? I look at the standings then look at the players. Look at the standings then look at the players. If nothing else, I think we need to see some new faces play bad baseball.

    It would be interesting to get the opinion directly from an old school pitcher like Blyleven who prided himself on making the manager pry the ball out of his cold dead hand. How was his training different and how could today's injuries be avoided?

    It's a mystery to me why the Twins aren't taking this opportunity to take a look at guys like Sabato and Fedko and others who are doing well. But then again I'm not a baseball genius like Falvey. The Twins' one and only priority must be to tank these last games.

    Here's a new stat for those who live by them. Wallner's weight is 220, and his batting average is .207. Therefore, his weight to batting average coefficient is -13. Current rating = millstone. Next year he should be hitting in AAA next to McCusker.

    Joe Pohlad "right sized" the payroll and he "right sized" the attendance. Excellent work Little Joe.

    One thing that hasn't changed IMO is that there aren't enough Major League caliber players to fill out all the rosters, as the Twins are demonstrating. And Manfred is talking about expansion, which will water things down further.

    It's good there's still an ad on this site about how to watch the Twins games. The demand must be off the charts.

    Miguel Sano was "can't miss" too. In no way should they get prematurely locked into something long term.

    "trade Lopez and Ryan" - I like it! Why stop there? Go for the total devastation, post apocalyptic, "Mad Max" approach. Start charging $5,000 per year for TV access, trade all top minor league talent, and sell only bread and water at the stadium.

    One of the many things Baldelli does that I don't agree with is bat Wallner lead off. I guess it doesn't matter if you swing and miss as the first hitter or the fifth. But batting as the lead off hitter IMO encourages a more passive "looking at a lot of pitches" approach which doesn't help Wallner at all. Wallner is not a table setter, he's a heavy hitter. But for some reason, the Twins never ask for my opinion.🙂

    He should stop wiping the pouring flop sweat off his face every at bat.

    Wallner is obviously a fan favorite. But if you like a player, IMO that raises the odds by at least 50% that the Twins will try to find a way to get rid of him.

    "Reason to believe"? Probably no baseball at all played in 2027. Probably start costing twice as much to even watch the games on TV. Pohlads, Falvey, and Baldelli continue their vaudeville show. And the Twins personnel cut to the bone. If they were actively trying to destroy interest in baseball here, they couldn't do a better job.

    They have to be aggressive and smart. Not "Watch this - hold my beer".

    Frank Viola had an ERA over 5.00 for the first couple of years before he figured it out. The Twins could be looking at some really, really lean years of these young pitchers taking their lumps. In a way, the line-up seems almost irrelevant.

    Hrbek is still living in the Twin Cities area I think.

    "Wallner has been the Twins' SECOND BEST hitter over the last 2 seasons". Sit down and meditate upon that for a moment.

    They keep trotting Kriske out there who now has an ERA over 11.00. Someone should put a stop to this for humanitarian reasons if nothing else. Children could be permanently scarred watching this stuff.

    The Twins are merely returning to their Washington Senator roots: "First in war, first in peace, and last in the American League". Let it happen.

    I wonder if trying Keaschall in the outfield might be a good move. He's looked pretty shaky at 2B, and not sure what his arm is like in the OF, but he's athletic and puts his bat on the ball. Keaschall in LF and Jenkins in RF and Culpepper at 2B might make them bearable to watch.

    The Twins are in a desperate "throw spaghetti at the wall and see if it sticks" mode. So yes, Roden, who has shown nothing at the ML level, is a small strand of spaghetti to lob out there. That's the current Twins' version of a "bright spot". Get your 2026 season tickets as soon as you can.

    Maybe part of the goal is to make Lopez and Ryan BEG to be traded.

    I don't care if Jenkins is still spitting up into a bib in his highchair, I'd rather see him develop as a player in the Twins outfield than watch any more Wallner- Larnach futility.
