  1. As of now, it seems that the rotation will consist of Lopez, Ryan, Ober, Paddack, and DeSclefani. One of what has seemed to be the biggest concerns for our guys, that I have noticed, is the depth beyond them. As I see it, aside from any possible additions from the outside, there are at least 3, if not 4, options to call up. First and foremost is Varland. After that, I expect that Canterino and Festa are looking to be ready to step up. Lastly, if he can keep up with what he’s done so far this spring, then Woods-Richardson is right there as well. Varland stepped up pretty well last season, and I have the feeling that another arm or two are ready to make a similar leap this year. Thoughts?
  2. The 4 primary Boras clients either aren’t worth what is being asked for(and you know damn well Boras will have them hold out as long as possible), or are just ignorant to how this season has played out. Two of them think that they’re deserving Of star money for one year of production(Snell and Bellinger), and the other two to get elite money for less than elite production. Yes, we could still use a couple of players, but I don’t see anyone as a dire need. Lets see where everyone is at in a couple of weeks, then they’ll know if things need supplementing.
  3. I have a gut feeling something is going to happen, something fairly surprising. I’m ready to be shocked.
  4. First off, you couldn’t have a better clubhouse guy and mentor to the younger hitters. Second, he’s someone that gives you defense and reliability in the lineup, as well as quality AB’s. He’s Plinco with more experience. I can see him bringing the best out in several of our young hitters, teaching them and, IMO, giving this lineup a shot in the ass, which they could’ve used earlier last year.
  5. I don’t see that he was worth it for one season, the price had to be too high. I remember reading that he, like Sonny Gray, is definitely going through free agency after the season. As it’s been made clear before, the FO is wanting anyone they trade for to be controllable.
