  1. If he's better than Manuel Margot I'll be fine with Bader.
  2. Why on earth would the Padres want to trade for Christian Vazquez?
  3. I'm not sure how to feel about Ben Johnson staying in the NFC North
  4. Mariners if anything, but I prefer to just keep Castro.
  5. I'll just be glad if we can find someone willing to buy the Twins and keep them in Minnesota.
  6. Santana. Already loved by the Twin Cities and Minnesota knows he can help the team.
  7. If this was real, definitely Joe. He is one year older and has a more extensive injury history. Ryan is good but Bailey Ober has also been trending upward throughout the last few seasons.
  8. Vazquez was definitely the better catcher on the Twin's roster this year (no disrespect to Ryan Jeffers). He has a terrific defensive upside that Jeffers lacks and it was more evident than not that his Driveline training paid off.
  9. The Twins could meet with old friends by signing Jake Cave and Nick Gordon who were just released from the Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins. Gordon is a versatile, everyday player who is consistent enough to earn a starting role. He can also provide high energy and morale to any team. Cave knows Target Field's outfield well and despite not being a great defender he is a better option than Manuel Margot. He has been consistent at the plate although Cave has dealt with some injuries.Nick Gordon's season stats Courtesy of Baseball Savant
  10. Without Pablo Lopez the Twins are no longer a playoff capable team. It was obvious that we could not lean on our young pitching staff of David Festa, Simeon Woods-Richardson, and Zabby Matthews, without Lopez Minnesota would be left with only the injury prone Joe Ryan and Bailey Ober as starters to build around. Also, with a bullpen that blew up at the end of last season we need multiple high caliber starters that can help ease the bullpen's arms.
  11. It makes more sense for the Twins to re-sign Carlos Santana instead of adding Goldschmidt.
  12. If anyone needs it, this site is a perfect description of the new Twins T.V deal. Everything to know about the Minnesota Twins new TV deal and what it means for fans (puckettspond.com) Edit: It doesn't show up as a link but if you click the text above it should transfer you to a website.
  13. Yes, he had a torrid stretch to start the season, but even when he was injured, Correa was a key part of the Twins' roster. He mentored the younger guys (especially Brooks Lee), kept positivity high in the clubhouse, and stuck with the club even when we started to plummet. I think he deserves to be the team MVP, injured or not.
  14. In some circumstances, this would be a must win year for many managers but after parting ways with multiple coaches and a General Manager it seems as though Baldelli's expectations will be lowered. The Twins organization isn't making Rocco's job any easier with another low payroll to work with, so I have to believe that his seat is a little cooler than believed. I do believe that if the Twins don't make it to the playoffs this year, we may see a new manager.
  15. I think Baldelli is still a good option although it's clear that Rocco's .523 winning percentage is no longer suitable for the young, strong AL Central. I would've liked if we had signed Terry Francona as a new manager except the Reds got to him first.
  16. The Padres are a much larger franchise and have loads more money than our Minnesota Twins. Even cutting payroll left them well above the Twins financially. San Diego also has more talent on their roster.
  17. I highly doubt it. With Kepler (probably) leaving it will open more doors for prospects like Austin Martin and Dashawn Keirsey Jr., but not in center field. Buxton is too valuable a player for the Twins to move from the outfield's most important position, even with a surplus of top outfield prospects. It will also be a while for E-Rod (Can I even say that?) to be called up and an even longer time before Walker Jenkins makes the move. Buxton is also a better option than Willi Castro, Austin Martin, and Royce Lewis (Although his outfield days are most likely over it's still possible...). Also, Trevor Larnach and Matt Wallner are not an option having both logged zero innings in CF, respectively. Finally, with the rare chance that Manuel Margot is signed again, his poor defense and atrocious offense have no chance of replacing Buxton's production even if #25 is injured for half the year.
  18. There I was, at the start of the season, thinking Rocco had a chance to win Manager of the Year. Boy, was I wrong.
