    I skimmed through the thread but find it absolutely wild some people think Buxton might take Julien ABs against righties lol There is a better chance I get named President of the United States tomorrow. If Buck makes roster its to play vs lefties. Unless he can play CF vs righties.

    Ryan is definitely starting game 3 Maeda is back up for whenever its needed next week(honestly hopefully never)

    I am oddly terrified to start Gray next week and it has nothing to do with him. The way the offense sucks so bad in his starts for an entire season is mind boggling. Its also not just some thing where hes got a low win total and is unlucky because we score once he leaves the game. Gray has over 180 innings and the second best era in the AL.......we have lost more of his starts than weve won. Should almost be impossible to achieve.

    Its obviously highly unlikely but if all breaks tonight, us and Houston winning and Texas losing. It starts to have more of a shot Its not insane to see Seattle still winning 3/4 vs Texas over weekend. And definitely not insane to see the Astros losing 1 in Zona So really toughest part would be us still winning 4.

    This is exactly why most people had the division over long before it really was. When we went into the All Star break .5 game back we werent really a half game behind cleveland because we achieved the same record as them essentially while playing a much tougher schedule Guardians did their fan base a favor collapsing out of it. Woulda been a tough break entering the final week 1.5 games back knowing we are playing Oakland and Colorado.

    Why cant Houston lose a second game to Zona? That would have them 88-74 and Texas winning division at 89-73 whom we have tiebreaker over??

    If we need them all to be multi inning guys we in big trouble I would eased him back and more tested to see how he does 2 out of 3 days type of thing.

    I get that but first game back Id ease it a bit and get him a few appearances Now hes gonna need loads of days off Also his primal yell after inning 1 was that of a guy who thought he might just go 1

    Yup. No room for Alcala who hasnt done enough up here when healthy anyways to make that a move. BP is set for playoffs with the guys you said with Funderburk as the potential added option if we feel we need another lefty vs whoever we play in WC Ober is off the WC to wait for ALDS and Keuchel is just a dugout fan.

    Ober was sent down mostly to limit innings. He wasnt great for a while but the guy doesnt get bombed. Hes usually a consistent 5-6 innings. In the playoffs first sign of real trouble he gets pulled. Hes a more than adequate 4th option. And he only pitches game 1 if we need to win in 3 games for WC. Otherwise it goes Ryan and then right back to Lopez and Gray. Having Ober lined up gives us flexibility with Maeda who is experienced in BP roles and who can come in quickly to spell any of the games in WC or if not needed he can spell Ober quickly in ALDS.

    Nah the reason is there is really no reason to DFA him And you respect a good clubhouse guy that produced in April when a lot of other guys didnt and helped us stay afloat. DFA'ing him doesnt save money and it doesnt help the player since he cant go anywhere else. No he sits on IL and is a back up if a worst case scenario happens

    Yeah its been impressive depth. Hopefully we find other ways to score runs next week too and timely homers still come with it. As far as leading the AL, I think itll end up being Rangers. They have a game in had on us and LAA and 2 games on Tampa. Plus a lot to play for still

    I agree wtih basically your whole post. Only thing I will add is there is absolutely no chance we do a 5 man rotation at any point in the playoffs. Off days provide ample rest. We are not holding back throwing Lopez and Gray as much as possible on normal rest. 7 game series will see us using a 4 man.

    My hope is that we just dont get the earliest game. Give us something in the 2-3 range at least. Best bet for that is Brewers winding up playing a WC team not named the Cubs.

    Gonna end up clinching on the off day which is a bummer. Guards just phoned it in. Whats crazy is we are actually gonna end up in way more of a race for the bye then the division. Bye wont happen though. Dont think we will try to win enough and Astros/Ms/Rangers play too many games vs each other its almost impossible to pass all 3.

    This might end the Reds season. Would be a brutal loss for them Twins playing like maniacs on the bases tryna force the issue and win or lose the game ASAP. Worked well. We dont want a lot of extras.
