  1. Thats gone That is a blatant rail richochet .
  2. This is insane Bibee might be the luckiest pitcher the game has ever seen. Might explain why his FIP is 3.69 compared to his 3.03 ERA coming into today.
  3. Whole year?? Our offense has been bordering on elite since the ASB.
  4. Not gonna lie we might just be cursed and meant to never exceed 6 games over .500
  5. Well a reason for that is two of the balls int he walks were very close with one to vazquez being a strike imo And Wallners AB was a great AB where it was like 9 pitches deep so a lot of strikes there. Including two meatballs he just missed fouling back. Bibee throwing a lot of cookies. No reason to take one. Hes just getting outrageously lucky.
  6. Bibee living very fortunate right now We are hitting missles all over the field on his strikes.
  7. Excellent shut down inning for Sonny Now lets really make Bibee cry
  8. 3.5 would be the technical lead with the tiebreaker factor in. I am of the belief that last night sealed it. But good teams go for the killshot so would love that Also, we are like 0-6ish when we get to 6 games above .500(might be worse). Its time we finally break that trend and get to a season high 7 games over and a season high 7 game lead. Lucky 7s tonight. Lets go.
  9. The issue with this comp of guys like Sands and Winder is the situations they are used in. Your initial OP does an excellent job of showing that most of the guys we got wouldnt necessarily be high leverage upgrades, but thats also not what we were looking for. We were never trying to replace Jax/Duran/Pagan/Theilbar. We wanted duplicates of those guys to have more options. The current recipe to win is starter goes 6. Pagan/Thielbar take the 7th. Jax takes the 8th. Duran the 9th. Its a perfect forumla....if it works. But if that type of game happens 3-4 in a row. They cant all pitch. Now enter Floro or the revolving door of bala/winder/Moran/Headrick/Sands. Guys who just keep trading(and blowing in most cases) opportunity to stay up here. Or maybe Jax has an off game and now it goes extras. Weve burned them all and pitching the 10th is the revolving door. It was all about depth. Thielbar was out a long time and our only rostered lefty like all summer was Moran or Headrick. Thats brutal. Terrible. You showed the stats of Floro and overall hes been actually pretty solid with us. But his blow ups were in closer games. Because by default he had to come in to get outs in Milwaukee. Think if we had other higher leverage options? Or Winder/Sands. Winder has actually been quite solid. Hes had multiple games where his long relief helped big time. Vs Seattle he gave us a chance we still lost 8-7 but he hlped us try to come back. Vs Texas we did comeback and he was a hero. Vs Cleveland we cameback then he got a 3 inning save. Issue is he also lost a game like Texas the other day when he was forced in the do or die role. That shouldnt be his role. Sands has been so untrustworthy we literally only pitched him in games we deemed mostly over, whether it was us or them. The willi castro role last night. His first chance to pitch when it really mattered was Sunday when we basically made up our minds pregame no good pitchers were being used. Sands gave up the lead TWICE. You cant really compare Sands mop up duty to Jordan Hicks high leverage. So thats really the idea of why most thought we should add at the deadline. More depth so that when the big 4 cant go, we have 1 or 2 other great options. There is absolutely zero need for this team to ever roster Winder and Sands at the same time. Or Headrick with Funderburk and THielbar. We should have had more depth. As it is, our bullpen is still better than Texas at least. And my hope is in playoffs when you only really play a couple in a row the big arms will hold up and be ready.
  10. Yup unlikely. Id use Varland for 1 at least. Let him get his MLB bullpen feet wet.
  11. As fantastic as tonight has been there is still one negative We continue to roster the same pitchers in a rotating revolving door that we know flat out cant do it. Headrick is awful. If you cant do 18-1 mop up duty you have got to get off the roster.
  12. Guardians really make Pablo work. Kinda got his number a bit But hes limiting the damage and thats really all that matters tonight.
  13. What a fun game. The exact message to send in game 1 of the biggest series of the year.
  14. Yup. Especially after swinging at the horrendous first pitch to fall behind then looking at a hanger to make it 0-2. He stuck with it.
  15. Pay Royce all the money And what a dumb pitch by Giolito. I get it he lost all control and was basically in a spot where he had to throw a strike. But that was a total meatball to the most locked in hitter in the division
  16. What does "not trying" have to do with anything? The message would be "produce or stop batting in key run producing spots" I am not sure what you are confused on. The term "send a message" is not synonmyous with "trying".
  17. It means you stink and that you wont bat 3rd-5th off name recognition
  18. Sending up righties vs lefties doesnt work nearly as well when said righties are not good hitters. Rocco acts like our bench is all right handed hitting October David Freese. But of course, Vazquez gets to bat again...
  19. I just dont understand how anyone can possibly defend Correa(and people do) He should absolutely start. His D is mostly incredible. But batting this guy in the middle of your order behind the guys who always get on base is absolutely psychotic. We see it time and time again. Send a messge and bat him 8th. Hopefully the ego bruising causes him to wake up. Nothing he has done statistically this year says he should 3rd, 4th or 5th. Literally nothing. Not one offensive stat.
  20. Im gonna keep asking it Anyone that was against throwing Royce the bag ahead of time chaning their mind yet??
  21. State of the pen?? They all threw like 10 pitches yesterday and only 3 of them pitched friday. We had Thursday off. Basically only Duran should be 100% avoided today.
  22. But they matter less if we are up by more games by winning this one. Like that isnt hard to see haha You dont dont punt by throwing a guy 2 innings in a tie game when normally he throws only when up or down by 7. That is awful managing that not a single other manager does.
  23. Umm you do realize that we can gain or lose a game still today right?? Like this game still matters You dont punt this game to hope to be able to use every reliever tomorrow when one of your best starters is going And he left Sands in. Mental.
  24. Does Rocco realize we are still in a division race?? Pitching Sands and letting Vazquez hit in games we need to win defies any sort of baseball logic
