That’s the difference between pitching and throwing is adjusting to the batters. But I will still take 4 innings of 1 run ball. It’s on the offense now to produce.
I agree with your assessment on Cory Provus. In national broadcasts, he is much more candid and honest about the team than he is on BSN broadcasts. Just listening to him last Sunday on Roku, he was much more critical of the team and their recent shortcomings with the Reds color man Jeff Brantley than he is ever seemingly allowed on home broadcasts. It was almost as thinking this is not the same broadcaster. I wonder if Cory wishes he would have signed with the Big Ten full time instead of the BSN.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but that is where Rocco should go out and get tossed. If for nothing else, to show the fans and his players he has urgency as well. I’m not blaming Rocco for this game, but he needs to fire them up for tomorrow.
While he should have probably got the one out, I’m glad he didn’t complicate things by throwing the ball away. Still gives us a chance to get out of the inning.
This may give Correa too much credit. It’s possible that his presence gives the rest of the infield more confidence and relax and they are willing to push harder and make those plays. You almost think a week ago both of those would have been hits.
Sadly enough I can see that if we limp into the playoffs with Matthews and Festa, ownership will see that it worked and not do anything but maybe find another DeScalafini type.
When Cory Provus discusses how Hunter Renfroe is in RF because of his cannon arm and third base coaches don’t run on Wallner tells me that Watkins should have the same information. It’s all what Waktins does with that information in sending the runners.
