  1. The big statistic is that the Twins are 9-22 in the last 4 seasons at Progressive Field. You know what else changed at that time? Cleveland changed their team's name. Maybe the Twins should lobby to have Cleveland change their name back to the Indians for purposes of getting that mojo back? 😜
  2. The Angels could only score a rouge in Toronto as part of a 14-1 rout. For the moment, the Twins are ahead!
  3. I do think there is a way that this works. Kriedler is not a permanent option. You send Lewis down for the minimum to clear his head, feast on some AAA pitching for confidence, and work on his swing outside of the bright lights of Target Field. Once his assignment is complete, he comes back up and we see if he is progressing forward. This idea allows Culpepper some more time in AAA since last night was his first night back in the field. When I expect Culpepper to come up, there should be a more permanent decision to be made on Lewis or Lee.
  4. I finally got to look at the two important plays last night. First, the Keaschall 'error', which I don't think is an error. Even if played properly, would be a tough play with the runner in front of you. The discussion from the radio boys last night suggested that the runner cannot go out of his lane to affect the play but has every right to the running lane that Keaschall has to field the ball. If it would have been done again, Keaschall would have waited back on the ball to get Ramirez out. Ramirez is fast, but he's not Bazzana fast, so he would have had time. Another learning experience for a young man in a play that isn't seen very often. After seeing Borrego's send of Jeffers, it looked aggressive, but not egregious. The egregious part was Lee not clearing the bat so Jeffers had a better sliding land into home. I'm not sure I would have done it considering we had one out at Messick was teetering on collapse, but it's not the worst send I've seen ever, or even this week.
  5. Congratulations on your trade to the Twins! Welcome to the dumpster fire! First appearance, bases loaded and 2 outs. Don't screw it up!
  6. When Lee is on, I have liked his approach because he is willing to take the ball the other way and take what the pitcher gives him. Of course, he needs to do that for a lot longer to develop a reputation for it.
  7. The radio guys suggested that Jeffers talked to the home plate umpire asking whether it was a called strike or on the swing. He likely didn't challenge if was called out on the check swing.
  8. I have nothing against the current Twins coaching staff. My point was that Carl Willis has been at this for a long time and seems to get the best out his pitchers. You see that when many of these Cleveland pitchers go to other teams. They never seem to have the same level of success when they leave Cleveland.
  9. The difference maker is Carl Willis as the Cleveland pitching coach. Nothing against Pete Maki, but Carl Willis has been doing it for years and seems to always have great pitching and I think it has to be linked to him.
  10. That makes 2 bad sends in back to back games since I thought his send of Clemens yesterday was a bad send as well.
  11. Prielipp didn't have the best outing. Sounds like he settled down after the first inning and gave the Twins some length. Hopefully part of the learning curve for the young man.
  12. I visited there once after going to see the Field of Dreams site. Kernels weren't in town unfortunately.
  13. I'm watching Cedar Rapids vs Quad Cities. 0-0 headed to the bottom of the 4th in Davenport
  14. Should someone go out and see if there is proof of life with the Twins bats?
  15. I had just looked it up and it seems to be an add-on for an additional 9.99 a month. While cheaper than Apple TV, still defeats the purpose of MLB.TV.
  16. For all of you that actually watched the play. The radio guys suggested that because the runner did not deviate from his path to make contact with Keaschall, there was no intentional interference and that's why it wasn't called.
  17. I have Prime. I just looked at it and I would still have to pay for it through them instead of just Apple TV.
  18. The radio guys were pretty convinced that it should have been interference. Keaschall gets an error on the play to boot.
  19. Atterbury states that Kwan has been 1 for his last 16 ABs. Foreshadowing on this game is going to go.....
  20. I have to depend on the radio. Nice that they have Perkins on the radio call tonight. Is it raining in Cleveland now? They're talking about putting diamond dust on the pitcher's mound.
  21. Tough assignment for Wallner given the lefty. He had a decent game a couple of days ago. Looks nice to see Lee moving up in the lineup. Some commentators that I follow are suggesting this weekend is the last ride for Lewis prior to a decision having to be made. Culpepper, although tearing it up in Las Vegas this week, is still the DH while he is battling an injury I believe. When he is back to the field and still performing, then I believe the serious question surrounding Lewis needs to be addressed.
  22. I will have to agree with the tone of the commenters and the article that Borrego is definitely an improvement over Watkins. It seems like he better understands the abilities of the runners on base. Definitely an improvement over sending runners on all contact plays no matter how silly it may look. I would disagree about the Clemens send yesterday. A very short fly ball to center field with average speed just seemed like a terrible idea from the start. Overall, his approach has seemed to be better so an aggressive error here or there is part of the job.
