  1. And one of their save leaders isn't even on the team anymore.
  2. Keaschall made his redemption. I know it should be routine, but he still has to feed the ball correctly for the double play.
  3. That's what I was afraid of in real time was he got hit square in the face.
  4. I don't mind that challenge. It's the bottom of the 8th. You need to keep that run off the bases.
  5. The odd one was listening to KSJB, AM 610 out of Jamestown, ND when I was little. When Darin Erstad played for the Angels, they broadcast Angels games. It was hilarious that they would play a parody version of George Jones's song Finally Friday, obviously on Friday morning.
  6. Out here in the far western part of Twins Territory it was 1060 KGFX from Pierre, SD or if it was a cloudy day, 570 WNAX from Yankton, SD. One of the few stations left with the starting 'W' west of the Mississippi River.
  7. Tolle looked shaky in the second. Now he looks like he can get a quality start.
  8. That's what my rampant speculation would think of as well. Either they think Culpepper is close or Kreidler is a better SS and they want Lee to get used to the hot corner again before Culpepper is called up. I wonder about that as well. It didn't seem to work well for him before being just a permanent DH. Let's hope that he is close to being back in the field and this isn't a lengthy stay on the DH trail.
  9. LaTroy just didn't want to pick up the phone. That phone ringing is very distressing to LaTroy Hawkins at the moment! Morris did get the call!
  10. Alright Twins, hold onto that rubber! We don't need any unauthorized runs coming across!
  11. I guess it depends on what or who you want to believe. If you believe the report from Dan Hayes as pointed out in the TD article, they kept KC down to fine tune his defense. He did make a start at 3rd yesterday, which he has only done 7 times in total since starting in AAA. If the organization wants him to be flexible in the infield, it makes sense to keep him down a little more to get some defensive work at 3rd or 2nd as well as SS prior to calling him up.
  12. The History Channel used to have a series called the Nostradamus Effect. I propose that Buxton suffers from the Wallner Effect. Inability to hit home runs with runners on base.
  13. Caratini made sure that my future comment was not even going to hold up before I typed it! I was going to suggest that they leave Caratini on the bench when he is not catching because he has been struggling at the plate and we do not need another hole in the lineup at 1st base.
  14. The Angels. Give you an idea how bad it is. They still have Topa and Sands as our 'closers' by committee.
  15. You just need to sell it better. Sell it like you're adapting Twins Daily to the way that the Twins are treating pitchers in their farm system. Since they are piggybacking starters, everyone is essentially a reliever!
  16. Big update for today's game. The Astros have moved ahead of the Twins in bullpen ERA. The Astros are now 28th and the Twins are 29th. All the Astros needed was to face the vaunted Twins lineup in order to better their lot for the season.
  17. The only thing they are murdering is a bag of Krispy Kreme's.
  18. Scary part about that promotion is that we got to see all the people in the stands.
  19. I also thought there was an Astros hitter who did the same thing last year as well, but for the life of me cannot remember who it was.
  20. I'm not sure it's sending a message as it is just to reset. If they went all the way down to Fort Myers, they could be away from the media and spend 2-3 weeks down there and then work their way back up after they spend time working on their swing, clearing their head, and maybe for Lewis, working on expanding his fielding to 1st base. The great part about having the AAA club in St. Paul is that you can quickly call up players or get pitching help. The detriment is that the AAA club is still in the media market as the major league club so there will be reports (probably including here) on how good or bad Lewis and Wallner are doing in St. Paul and whether they are finished as a player in the organization. This was one of the messages that Plouffe wanted to get across today when the news dropped.
  21. I tend to agree. He should just play one position if he is going to get called up and be effective at one position so he can concentrate on his defense and batting. Especially if, as an organization, you believe he is the next wave of difference-making prospects. I'm just reporting what I see and surmising what it may mean.
  22. BREAKING: Watching the Saints game and Culpepper just got hit on his left hand/wrist and is currently staying in the game. Hopefully this is just a bruise and not anything more serious.
