  1. There are worse ones out there, but it definitely is ugly. The San Diego fiesta City Connects come to mind for my tastes.
  2. The Class A bowling league. Meanwhile, the Twins are in the Class C bowling league with those shiny blue lake uniforms.
  3. We should all give a moment of pause for our old friend Ron Washington. According to this report, he is suffering from a medical condition that has caused him to take himself away from his managerial duties for the rest of the year. Angels manager Ron Washington to miss rest of season with medical issue | AP News
  4. @High heat beat me to the point that if they believe in Lewis's ability to play at the ML level that the FO will also need to look, trade, or develop (enter sarcasm here) a defensive-minded catcher that is willing or able to catch Lewis's knuckleball. I'm old enough to remember the ESPN special report story of Doug Mirabelli being rushed with a police escort to Fenway in order to make it to the stadium on time to catch Tim Wakefield. Lewis still intrigues me and I hope he makes it and can contribute to the Twins.
  5. I can see them preparing to be sellers at the deadline. As the deadline approaches, watch for Gillespie to be starting in St. Paul simultaneously with Paddack on the Twins with the expectation that he would take over Paddack's spot in the rotation. I can also see Urena as a pickup for the same reason. If Duran is traded as rampant speculation keeps signaling, someone will have to take over the bullpen spot for Duran, or Coulombe, or whomever may be traded out of the bullpen. Who knows, maybe the Wentz experiment will end pretty quickly, and it'll be the next man up to try to eat low level innings. As for these pitchers taking up roster spots where maybe you'd like to see Raya or Adams, I don't mind having these additions as placeholders while our prospects get a little more seasoning in AAA. Raya has improved in two of his last three starts (2 out of 3 ain't bad 🙃) with 5 innings pitched in those starts but still owns an over 5.00 ERA in June. Adams has a better ERA with a 4.15, but he has only gone 4 IP in 8 of his 22 appearances with his longest outing being 4 1/3 IP. Maya or Adams seem like candidates for making starts/appearances closer to late August and September than in late July if we are selling and Paddack or bullpen arms are traded. Again, I see these pickups as placeholders, but we always play the dangerous game of Falvey/Baldelli falling in love with scratch and dent veterans and not letting this play out as it should.
  6. I expected a low scoring game just due to the pitching matchup and the rainy, cool weather and humidity would likely knock down a lot of fly balls. Issue #4865 of the three true outcome batter. When the ball doesn't go out of the park, your offense looks pretty anemic.
  7. This seems like the first win this season in which they have scored under 3 runs. I'm likely wrong as I'm going by memory.
  8. or someone to throw their glove with the ball in it like Jon Lester used to do.
  9. Yes, because they have to show that they are really, really trying very hard to improve what appears to be very apathetic play.
  10. Is it bad when I do not remember the last time we held a lead at the end of an inning?
  11. They waited until the 6th inning, but they are finally making Kirby work a little.
  12. I'm curious that Larnach has been getting more recent time in RF than Wallner. I always thought that Wallner graded out as a better defender.
  13. Almost makes sense why our pitchers get lit up in the 3rd-5th inning. The other team has already seen everything our starter has twice by then.
  14. In sad Twins news, we are closer to the White Sox in the standings than we are the Tigers.
  15. 8th pitch of this at bat. Just as many as the Twins made Kirby work the entire last inning. And we wonder why we can't get our starters into the 5th inning.
  16. In happier MLB news, we weren't the last victim of the Brewer's Misiorowski's outings. He outdueled Paul Skenes earlier today with another 5IP, 2H, 0 ER, 8K's, 2BB.
  17. I fully expected at least an hour delay with all the rain that impacted the Twin Cities today.
  18. Another sign of good news. NBA finally approved the sale of the Wolves and Lynx. Only took 4 years to do it. Let's hope that it doesn't take the Twins that long to get sold.
  19. Plouffe is actually 4-7 as a broadcaster this year. He started during the away Seattle series (1-1), West Sacremento (3-1), and haven't won since.
  20. In this instance bringing in your closer in the 9th inning of a tied game when you're the home team is exactly what you would do as a closer. Just didn't work out as Duran didn't execute. Every other team has their closer out in that exact situation.
  21. Similar with Trevor May. I like listening to May on his takes as part of Jomboy Media.
  22. Feels like it's now or never to score and try to keep Raleigh from batting again this game.
  23. Bold of you to assume we will get a runner on this inning.
  24. I don't think Raleigh was up the line far enough to beat the throw at the plate. With that being said, this team should be desperate and taking chances to score. Much like Larnach's hustle double, Wallner probably should have been sent.
