  1. On a positive note, Shelton can save the bullpen. We are down by 8 runs so we can now bring in a position player to finish the game.
  2. Absolutely. This has been an issue for Prielipp for many of his starts. He just never fully imploded until tonight. He will need some more seasoning in St. Paul when Abel is ready to come back.
  3. Now the game shifts to trying to save your bullpen. Orze may have to eat another inning.
  4. New Twins strategy! Keep Sox runners on the bases so we can ice the White Sox starter. It'll work, right? Right?
  5. TV broadcaster tip. When you say someone is warming up in the pen, maybe mention on who it is? The radio boys are much better at this than you.
  6. Pitch it as an Emotional Support Cat. You may get it to work!
  7. Someone should tell Connor that he can declare to the ump that he going to pitch out of the stretch. He doesn't need to walk someone every inning so he can do that.
  8. It used to just be any random LHP would do this against us. Hence why I always made the joke that the ghost of Jamie Moyer could still get through this lineup twice. I guess we have reverted to allowing anyone to do this.
  9. Now we need to wonder how far the White Sox are willing to let Sandlin go tonight. Unless something changes, his pitch count lets him get into CG territory.
  10. I just read the story. I will need to find the video. Just sounds horrible. Too bad for the bat dog. It's those little things that make a minor league game fun to watch.
  11. Unrelated for this thread. The Tulsa Drillers, the Dodgers AA affiliate, had something cool in having a bat dog. A highly rated Dodgers prospect tried to avoid the dog and ended up suffering a worrying patellar injury. In response to the freak accident, they are removing the bat dog permanently.
  12. At least he is making the ERA calculation easy. Still a 9.00 ERA for the night.
  13. More like lucky that Vargas wasn't paying any attention. Vargas would have scored had he realized what was going on. I guess Vargas gets to score anyway.
  14. Gray would have had a homerun had he eaten his Wheaties this morning.
  15. Rojas would be nice for some length if it comes to that, but I'm not a fan of the lefty backing up a lefty. Need to change the angle.
  16. I believe her Umpire Scorecard from Boston was slightly below average, but not close to CB Bucknor level.
  17. Someone should introduce Prielipp to Molly Hatchet because he is consistently Flirtin' with Disaster.
  18. Is one of Jenkins, E-Rod, or Roden close to coming off of the IL? Seems early to shift away from a position if you're clearing for someone else.
  19. Isn't he currently on the team as an outfield instructor. If we are going down that rabbit hole, we can try to give Grady Sizemore a glove. He already has the uniform.
  20. This comparison is for 2026. For reference, McCutchen was just DFA'd by the Rangers. Although he hasn't played CF this year, I bet he still could in a pinch and would be a better crafty veteran holding a spot for the younger guys than Outman.
  21. I don't specifically have an issue with role players as well. The Twins had Billy Hamilton for half a season in 2022. Willians Astudillo for four seasons. Even Kyle Farmer gave a small pork processing plant in Mandan, ND named Cloverdale Meats some breath for a couple months. They still need to be a glue piece that can help the team on some way, shape, or form. I'm not sure where Outman is helping the team over anyone else that could be called up or shifted to replace him, even if he is a great teammate.
  22. Customary bullpen report. Following the lead of @C-Gangster. Panic level: Yellow. Orze, Rojas, and Adams seem to be the freshest out of the pen.
  23. I can see the 4K performance combined with a bad ABS challenge as being Wallner-esque and possibly the final straw that he has to go. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Gabby was called up while Gray was on the paternity list so he should be available for recall right away without the traditional waiting period? The Saints are playing in Louisville so it's not that far of a drive or flight to Chicago. Gabby could play RF and Martin or Kriedler in CF. I guess playing Clemens in CF is desperation to get more LF/Switch bats in the lineup. Seems crazy with going from too many LH batters to not enough. The Skor North Twins Show made a report today that Buxton has not been cleared to play CF yet. I'm not sure how his hips work for hitting the ball, but not for playing CF since the amount of stress you put on your hips swinging a bat or running the bases. That is for someone with more medical knowledge than I. They also speculated the reason Outman is still on the team is "chemistry" when talking to Shelton about it. Think Kyle Farmer. All discussion concerning Outman is about how great of a teammate he is and very little about his actual play on the field.
