  1. We are up to Meat Loaf territory in 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Now it's up to the Wolves to improve on Meat Loaf.
  2. I know. C-Gangster needs to change his Bullpen Color Watch to the Molly Hatchet Watch. How much are we flirting with disaster?
  3. Topa! Topa! He's our man! If he can't do it, we are in trouble!
  4. Real question is now whether you feel comfortable leaving Morris out there to finish the game and collect a save since it is still technically a save situation for him.
  5. I don't hate the move. There probably isn't another option on the bench and I would expect Outman to come in and play defense for the ninth.
  6. I still say that you can't send them all. Sometimes you just have to live with the team you assembled. You have to have answers in AAA before you send the short bus across the river. Wallner can get replaced by Erod. Keaschall could get replaced by Culpepper moving Lee and Clemens to 2nd. That's probably about it.
  7. Three. Pitchers may be the most gifted athletes on the field. Never suggested they were deep thinkers.
  8. I understand that is probably an expected play for Lewis. But we have seen many times that popped up just out of the reach Lewis or Lee so it is nice that he made that play.
  9. The hitting hasn't made it yet, but the defense and glove work will at least keep him serviceable at 3rd. Hopefully the bat comes back soon.
  10. Cory just finished telling us how well Varsho is hitting fastballs. Apparently, Ober didn't get the same scouting report.
  11. As much as I want Wallner out of the lineup, I also want to make sure that the players in St. Paul are ready for the show before calling them up. Temporarily, it would better just to bench Wallner for Martin prior to calling up and Erod. I do think calling up Erod, Jenkins, or whoever is ready is best for the long term. If you reach a position where you think you can give Erod full playing time, then swapping him for Wallner makes sense.
  12. Just had a feeling that as soon as they put Orze in that the game was over for us.
  13. Great confidence in Bradley. I thought he would be out when the first of 3 lefties came up.
  14. In live time, it looked like a strike. On ABS replay, it did look a lot closer. When you're fighting it, you have to try anything to stay in the box. I don't blame Wallner for that ABS challenge there. Two outs and a RISP, you have to try anything to stay in the box.
  15. I can see Shelton taking a match up approach to the 7th and seeing if he can get 1 or 2 more outs out of Bradley.
  16. The entire offseason was about why Larnach was offered arbitration, why he was still on the team and can we get anything for him. In the early going, he looks like he has responded to the criticism and is looking like he is turning a corner. Even his fielding appears to have improved. He will never be a gold glover, but it does look like he won't embarrass himself in the outfield.
  17. Whew. My unorthodox plan came through. Wallner struck out and did not ground into a double play and Lee came through!
  18. Is it bad that I wouldn't mind Wallner striking out just so he doesn't put the ball in play and GIDP?
  19. Lewis got lucky that Clemens picked the ball. He should have ate it as he had no chance of getting an out there.
  20. This has been a consistent problem in Twins development and roster construction. We gave up on Rooker because Larnach was going to be the next power hitter. We gave up on Larnach because Wallner was the next great power hitter. We let Kepler walk because Wallner was going to take over his position and his production. Now there are calls to see the next shiny toy in the box (Rodriguez, Jenkins, Gonzalez, Fedko, take your pick). I think Wallner needs to get sent down. I don't want it to be so reactionary that we are desperate to see the next shiny toy in the box.
