    Doesn't help that they have the Yankee representation of Adam Ottovino in there as well. Sort of a mixed bag of parts that haven't worked together all that long.

    It may all depend on when they bring Jeffers back. If they have to carry 3 catchers for a few weeks, that will really force the hand to put Buxton on the IL just to get help since you'll be down another OF. You'll eventually run out of IF to try to play out there.

    The good: Twins already have Weathers at 45 pitches after 2 innings and a lead! The bad: Twins are developing a concerning trend of not scoring many runs for Ryan. The ugly: Buxton is already out.

    Mr. Analyst. Are you sure that you don't want to completely sub out your lineup in the 3rd inning? One Rocco Baldelli would disagree with you on that premise.

    I think that Jackson was timid to challenge when he was first called up. They have let him get comfortable and now he is much more comfortable making the challenge. I would think he would be the most comfortable on the team due to his time in the minors.

    Today. Facing Ober on his rehab start. Topa is also returning to Minnesota as a member of the Bisons.

    If the Yankee fielder had been paying attention and let that ball go through, I think Bell may have been out there.

    You would have to wonder if the Twins would be willing to carry 3 catchers, especially if they think they will move Jeffers by the end of the month. You could DFA or send Gray down, if he has options left. Caratini, Clemens, or even Bell (scary, but still true!) can play 1B and Lewis can still play 3rd to give Lee a day off. If you intend on moving Jeffers, this will only be a 2–3 week ordeal.

    I'll say it's a tough trend to correct. Umps for generations have basically called that 3-0 pitch a strike if it stays within the area code of the plate.

    Good on the kid in the stands to not adhere to peer pressure and kept the ball. I don't understand the idea. There are just so few chances to catch a ball during the game and then the crowd wants you to throw it back?
