  1. At least Ryan is wearing it and trying to go as far as he can in the game to save the Titanic aka the bullpen.
  2. I had dreams that the Twins had knocked out the starter and into the exposed Mets bullpen. Oh how the tales have turned.
  3. Acton and Morris come on down. You're the next contestant on Sacrifice Island aka The Twins Game.
  4. Nope. Our reservation is booked for the Rays as they need a get-right series as well after dropping series to both the Reds and Pirates.
  5. I was going to ask that as well. I'm not sure that was the intention, but Scott was so wild that he couldn't stay in the game. Let's hope the Twins can take advantage of this leaky bullpen.
  6. I would also like to see the expected batting average on the play that Lewis attempted to make at 3rd but ended up giving up the infield single and RBI. I just don't see how that play is made by an average 3rd baseman either. There are definitely instances to attack Wallner's defense. The play in Toronto where he nearly turned himself into a pretzel watching a ball go over his head is a great example. From a larger standpoint, it could be argued that Wallner is taking his batting woes out into the field and likely needs a tune up in St. Paul. Even with that, I don't think Wallner could have caught the ball and is taught to keep the ball in front of you to limit damage. Now to the positives. Prielipp gave us exactly what we needed: 4-6 innings and kept us in the game. Rojas did alright for his debut although a WHIP of 2.5 is unsustainable. Orze, like Banda's appearance last night, must be dabbling in witchcraft to finally get through a clean inning. Speaking of witchcraft, whatever Orze and Banda are up to was leaked onto the bats, as other than Buxton, they are performing a disappearing act in the strikezone.
  7. I would agree. The offense needed better AB's against Holmes. Letting him cruise through seven without quality AB's didn't really give a chance for the Twins to exploit the Mets bullpen.
  8. I'm calling BS on that. That little girl got wayyy closer to the pinata then Wallner does to a baseball.
  9. Good thing for us because Lindor does make that play.
  10. We can all complain about Keaschall, Lee, Clemens, and Lewis. The real fact is that we don't have the personnel in St. Paul to replace them all. If you believe Culpepper is the future, you're not going to rush him up if you don't have to. I'm not opposed to seeing one of them being sent down, but you can't send them all. You likely need to find the one that needs the most help and send him and go from there. Maybe it ends up being a revolving door. When one comes back up, the next one gets sent down.
  11. I said this last night. The organization has really let down Lewis. They continue to rush him back from injury rather than let him get a full rehab stint in St. Paul before recalling him.
  12. I was really hoping for some quality at bats with the hope that we could knock out Holmes through the seventh. Instead, we left him enough in the tank to get through the 8th as well.
  13. I was going to suggest I've been to tractor pulls that went faster in the first couple of gears.
  14. Given the state of the Mets bullpen, Holmes may need to finish the game to get the win.
  15. I was also wondering if Kwik Trip still sponsors the triples pot when Jeffers hit his the other day.
  16. I was when he started since he was a change of pace from Morneau's pedantic delivery. As time goes on, not as much of a fan.
  17. If Lewis makes that play, it's on a highlight reel so I can't fault him for that. 23 pitches in the first is a little concerning. My hope is that Prielipp gets through 4-5 innings and keeps us in the game. If he does that, his start will be a success.
  18. Kreidler was the corresponding move to make room for Prielipp tonight.
  19. This may be an overreaction, but is there ever going to be a time this season when the Bullpen Sweat Watch will not be at least Yellow?
  20. Now the question is who is being sent out. Prielipp has been announced to start, but a corresponding move will need to be made to add him to the roster.
  21. I would guess until we get closer to the trade deadline. You have Lewis, Lee, and to a lesser extent Clemens all have similar issues. To bring up Culpepper, someone will have to go and that will likely either be Gray or Kreidler instead of Lee or Lewis. A more logical possibility would be the Twins trade Bell closer to the deadline and maybe tell Lewis that he needs to go to 1st in a platoon role with Clemens if he is going to still be on the team when Culpepper is brought up.
  22. They love bringing him back too early. Give him a handful of AB's in St. Paul and he's fine rather than a real rehab assignment.
