  1. Come on, Joe. Don't let the inning get away from you.
  2. That could have been a nasty collision.
  3. That sucked. Hopefully Saturday is better.
  4. Twins don't do the little things. And it adds up over the course of a game.
  5. Pablo notoriously slow starter. He'll get better as the season goes on. Frustrating nonetheless.
  6. It's opening day. Time for optimism! A lot went wrong for the Twins in the first half last year and they still found themselves 17 games over .500 before that awful Sunday in Texas sent the season on a downward spiral. If they can avoid being without Correa, Buxton, Lopez, Ober, Ryan, Jax and Duran for extended periods, then I think they have a ceiling of 90 wins and I think that's enough to win the division.
  7. Always concerning when a pre-season prediction falls flat on its face before opening day!
  8. Makes sense relative to being able to shuttle him back and forth between the majors and St. Paul. But the idea of Dobnak has always made more sense than the actual performance. He got hit pretty hard last year in a limited sampling and I wouldn't expect anything different in 2025.
  9. Pro sports teams don't come up for sale very often. Hard to know if anyone's 'jumping at the opportunity' to buy an MLB team because the opportunities are few and far between.
  10. I wonder if they bring Funderburk back up to take the last bullpen spot...
  11. I was skeptical that they'd actually sell the team. Now...I'd be shocked if they went through with it.
  12. I think the Twins could have a top 10 staff but I don't think it is there right now. Pablo wasn't as dominant in 2024 and I want to see if he can regain 'ace' status. Need to see if Joe Ryan is healthy. Paddack's always a ? and will SWR build off his successful rookie season? Ober's rock solid but there's some legitimate questions surrounding the rotation. I want to think the bullpen will be a strength but other than Jax and maybe Sands, I don't see anyone being a sure thing in that group either because of injury concerns or underwhelming spring training (Duran).
  13. I kept waiting for the Guardians to fall off last season and it never quite happened. On paper, the roster isn't as good as it was in 2024 and I expect the bullpen, which at times was historically dominant, will experience a decline. I'm thinking they fall somewhere around 80 wins.
  14. Last season, I just presumed he wasn't ever fully healthy and maybe I'm not remembering it correctly, but I felt like a few of his rougher performances were at least partly the result of shoddy defense. His performance this spring might mean nothing in the grand scheme of things - but its nonetheless disappointing and concerning.
  15. Julien watching two pitches in the middle of the zone and then swinging out of his cleats for a three pitch strike out... Not sure I'm looking forward to that.
  16. Oofda! Sucks for the Twins and for Royce. Hopefully he can get back healthy before too long but at this point, no one should be holding their breath.
  17. A few folks in the media up here are speculating that Stanton may not play again - between the seriousness of the current injuries and just overall his body continues to break down. No team would even think about trading for him.
  18. Agreed. I don't think he's to the point where you can put him on the opening day roster - presuming there's no other injuries in the pen. But...it is a long season and I'll suspect he'll get called up at some point.
  19. Pitchers working on their arsenal or a new arm angle. Hitters getting back into a rhythm. And a bunch of players that won't sniff the roster when camp ends. Really hard to take much of anything away from these games.
