This is who SWR is right now and most of last year. Really can't put hitters away but he battles and will give you a chance even if he doesn't pitch deep into games.
Bader can definitely give them a shot in the arm. But the Twins really need their best players - Correa, Buxton, Lopez, Ober, Ryan, Duran, and Jax - to start playing like it.
It is still incredibly and ridiculously early in the season but this series is an important one. As bad as that loss way yesterday, and as bad as the first nine games have been, the Twins' post-season chances likely come down to how they play in the division. Get off to a good start.
Varland has velocity on his pitches. But most major league hitters won't have much trouble if those pitches are left over the heart of the plate. Hopefully Stewart is back soon so Lou can go into a low leverage, long relief role.
Rocco's not the only problem but he's also not the answer at this point. Team desperately needs a new voice in the dugout. It may not matter, but there's no harm in trying.
