Royce is the modern day Shane Spencer. I think it was 1993, Yankee fans were convinced that Spencer was the second coming of Joe DiMaggio and he fizzled out hard and quickly. I still think the biggest culprit with Royce is / was injuries and but-for that, he could have been really good for the Twins - not necessarily to the level of 2023, but close. Never say never, but I think the door's closed on him long-term in Minnesota. Would be surprised if he's on the roster next season and that sucks because the game of what-if is a crappy one to play.

Kind of glad this one is on AppleTV because I can do without the 3-3 tie headed into the 7th only to see the Twins lose 7-3. Even when the Twins were somewhat competent, the Guardians kicked sand in their face in close games. With this bullpen? Woof. -
